I just picked up a P380 & noticed the slide stop doesn't turn like an old P9 I had years ago, did they change the design or will it loosen up or is there a problem? It runs fine so I'm not really to concerned.

It's hit or miss. i don't know if it's by design or some have a groove that the retention pin allows turning. My 7 Kahrs are not all one way or the other... some spin, some don't. One guy put his in a vise and torqued it until it moved. I thought that was breaking the thing, but later I noticed the part sticking through the lever spun, too. I had thought that some of the pins were mounted on a smaller pin/axle. Every time I looked at the slide lock lever/pin I saw more detail... didn't notice the small retention pin for a long time. 2 or three of my polymers' pins do spin and I don't know if it's by design or accident! It doesn't seem to really make a difference. I lubricate the pin before installing it... using oil or grease... whatever's handiest as I put it back together.

IMO it doe4sn'tmatterone way or the utter if it spins or not. the retention spring that holds the pin in place is what governs it. Some are tighter than others. It is not a fault issue one way or the other. One of my pMJ9 spings and the other PMJ9 doesw not. and they both are perfect. My K9 does not spin and my P380 does not spin and they also are perfect..
