View Full Version : E-mail Kahr?
I bought a new CW45 and I'm having problems with it. I've sent about 10 e-mails to Kahr in the past month and a half and had no respone at all. Anyone here ever deal with them through their e-mail addresses that are on their website?

I am sorry you are having problems! I have emailed them several times. During business hours, they usually email me back in 30 minutes at the most. I usually work with Jay. Email him direct at jay.dandrea@kahr.com. I have found their service to be great!

Just did this last Sunday with my cm9 that had to go back. Went to website, clicked on QA/repair shipping tab, click on the first question, followed link and they sent me a prepaid fedex label by email and it went out Tuesday and they got it yesterday. Pretty easy for me, sorry about your troubles.

Jay is extremely responsive!
Thanks for the responses. I've sent the e-mails to SERVICE@kahr.com as well as SALES@kahr.com. No response, no spam. I don't have much of a voice so communication over the phone is sometimes difficult. I'm trying the other e-mail address that was posted here so we'll see. Bought a new CW45 and right from the beginning the take down pin was working it's way out with every shot. It comes out far enough in 6 shots now that the slide will not stay locked back after the last shot is fired. Also I'm having tons of failures to load properly. I've put 250 rounds through the gun in 2 range sessions and it took forever. After firing, the new round only gets pushed about half way into the chamber and the gun locks up. Barely get through a mag without this happening at least once. 45 is way too expensive to just go shoot up for the heck of it to see if the gun will work. Thought I'd see what KAHR had to say about it. Thanks again.

I believe that you may have the takedown pin spring in the wrong position. Go to the new member section and look at the stickeys. I don't remember which one but there is one that shows how the spring is supposed to sit and the pin to be inserted.

I did, and thank you! He did respond right away and is going to send me a new spring.

Yeah, I've seen pictures of what the spring should look like and mine doesn't really look that different. But, I can clearly see that it's not really overlapping the hole where the pin goes through. So, it's not putting any pressure on the pin to stay in place. I've tried adjusting it but it doesn't make any difference. Once I start tightening the screw back down the spring moves to the right and is no longer overlapping the edge of the hole. If I leave it too loose well then obviously it's gonna move on its own. Jay said he'd send me a new spring so hopefully maybe this new one will be in better shape. I guess the original spring is not shaped quite right. I thought of trying to bend it a little but haven't.

There is somewhat of a trick to getting the spring in the right place from what I understand. I believe that you might have to hold it in position while you tighten the screw down. Be careful not to tighten the screw too much as you could strip the frame.
