View Full Version : PM9 slide lock pin interference

I've noticed that, with the slide locked back, when I insert a full magazine the projection on the inside of the slide lock pin will bump and mark the left side of the first bullet in the magazine. (I use 124gr JHP) and Winchester 124gr black HP). So, I would assume as each round comes up into the number 1 position they each bump that projection on the slide lock pin also.
I've read somewhere here in the forum that this can cause a problem and that the projection on the slide lock pin should be filed down some to eliminate interference with rounds coming up into battery.
Has anyone else noticed this? If so, how did you fix it?

Have you fired it and had any problems with this particular ammo?
IF you have problems like the slide locking back prematurely... bullets still in the magazine, then you might have a problem... and judicious stoning or very light filing MIGHT help, but if you do too much the slide might not stay open when firing and there's still ammo in the magazine. Let's see if you have a problem BEFORE you FIX it!

what wyn said is correct. #1 get out and fire the gun, if it locksopen early, then u already kow the rounds are hitting that inside tab on the slide lock lever.
Then, an email to kahr attn Jay should get u a new one, state ur issue to them. Then if u are industrious get a small file and gently but slowly file off a bit of that tib and retest in thegun. A loaded magazine with the rounds that are hitting it is good way to test it. no real need to shoot it IMO.
With the slide off the gun and the slide lock lever back in place is an easy waqy to see how good ur doing with the stoning/filing of that little tab. It doesn't hav eto clear by much either..
