Morning All,
Just a quick update on a new K40. I've now put 250 rounds of a mix of 180 and 165 grain FMJ through the gun with no malfunctions of any kind. Before shooting it I stripped and cleaned the gun and magazines thoroughly. Whether this contributed to the reliability so far is not clear, but it sure did not hurt. I'll be qualifying Winchester PDX and Hornaday Critical Defense rounds tomorrow. Next will be Golden Sabre. I've carried Golden Sabre in all my SA XDs so I'm curious as to how they'll perform in the K. If anyone has real experience on any or all of the defensive rounds I've mentioned I'd appreciate comment.

So far so good. I've not been concentrating on accuracy at all, but I can tell you that it hits where I'm pointing it. Feels very natural in my hand.

probably not but whatit also did was give u some good insight in ur K40- before that first range shoot. That is what is important. Nice report. The kahr K's are their bread and butter guns, no doubt. I thik our beloved colonel has a K40 magna ported even..A very nice feature.

I have a Mag-na-ported P40 and a new Glock 23C. I prefer bonded bullets and just got in half a case of 180-gr Bonded Remington Golden Sabers. I also recently switched from Speer 165-gr GD's to the 180-gr GDSB for carry. The 165-gr PDX1 worked fine and had the least flash when I tested those. I started out favoring the 165-gr bullets, but am switching to all 180-gr... the bigger the better, and the GDSB is only available in 180-gr.
I also bought a half case of bonded Winchester JHP because of the price and never having TOO MUCH ammo.
I AM worried about the Internet being closed to ammo sales, so I wanted to stock up!

My K9 had no issue at all with Golden Sabers, but it is the 9mm version. I will say my K9 has yet to have the slightest hiccup...Like Jocko Said, the K (short of the T) IS the Kahr pistol. All the rest have been made to lighten it up, make it smaller, etc. I'd say your K40 will eat anything you throw at it.

I haven't shot any factory Remington in my K40, but I've thrown a hundred or so rounds of Golden Sabres downrange in handloads with no malfunctions, misfeeds or other issues. I believe these are sitting on a published max load of 4756, and IMO seated the bullets fairly long. Hornady XTPs seem to feed fine as well. In fact, I don't believe I've ever had any malfunctions in my K40 (at least none that were not due to grossly overloaded handloads, apparently).

Congrats! I think if Kahr made a 'K10' (10mm) I'd own one of those, too. The K's are really something special IMO.

I think folks should post more action shots...
