Is there a trigger on any high capacity gun or a trigger mod that will result in a similar trigger to kahr? I use an M&P9c with a 17rd mag as my home defense gun and have extra 17rd mags to give myself plenty of fire. BUT, I carry a Kahr when I leave the house. IMO, there is no better combination of compact firearm without safeties and the trigger is awesome. I do train with both guns. I would like to have a home defense gun with a similar trigger to the Kahr. I find the first shot is the one that is impacted by the change in triggers and the first one is probably extremely important.
Yes.
Find one of the old S&W 9mm's based on the Model 59 design, which was offered DAO. I had a DAO model 469 that had a sweet trigger, was fairly compact too. Can't remember the capacity...10 + 1 "I think".
I suppose any of the DAO SIG's would do the same role as well... but none of them do it better than Kahr.

The Sig P250 does it really well. It's a longer pull than a Kahr, seems heavier as a result, but they are actually about the same. I find it close enough to the Kahr for my needs and I personally love the pistol. Aside from the Kahr, I'd argue it's the best DAO trigger out there. Better than the other DAK Sig models at double the price. It gets a lot of flack and there is a pervasive rumor going around about how it 'failed' government testing (always trust the government), but it's widely thought to be more politics than a true test. There are tons of owners that have never had a minutes trouble. It shoots well, extremely accurate and the caliber exchange capability is great, although I have not used it, I do have interchangable slides in 9mm (compact and full) for carry and range respectively.
I love it.
There are also the Sig DAK models, but you pay nearly (vs the P250) double for a trigger that isn't as smooth as the P250...but you do get an all metal gun in those models (P226, P229).
The Para 1911s are also popular in this regard, DAO trigger in a 1911 frame.
Last, I'd look at the Walther PPX (new at SHOT this year). It's basically a DAO hammer fired version of the PPQ. A little weird on the grip if you ask me, but I expect it's dreamy to hold like the PPQ is.
I set out on this search last year and landed on the Sig P250. Very very happy w/ my decision.

+1 for the Sig 250 and Sigs with the DAK. My P250 9mm is incredibly accurate and the trigger feel is very nice.
I also have owned DAK Sigs and they feel pretty good too.

+2 for the SIG P250 being close to the Kahr trigger. I've found nothing closer.
I actually like my M&P PRO trigger better than the Kahr trigger. I like the very crisp trigger break after taking up the slack. Pretty close to a SA trigger at that point.

Also have a look at the HKs with the LEM trigger. The wife and I played with one this afternoon on a P2000SK and it is very nice with a short reset. She loved everything about it, so we may end up going back to get it. They are pricey though. It figures that she'd like German guns, since she also likes BMWs.

Beretta has a type c trigger on the PX4. It is a half-cocked (like the Para LDA) trigger. The one I have isn't broken in yet, so it is still scratchier than my PM9. But, it may be another alternative for you. The gun is great, in .40, not much recoil, 14 round standard mag with 17 round available. It also come in 9mm.

Glock with the green NY1 trigger spring and the "-" 3.5 (now 4.5) connector. Though I haven't changed my new EDC 19, my old EDC 26 and my used to be, USPSA 17 (now using the 19) have this mod. Gives a stouter pull over all with a positive and crisp reset. I changed them for the reason you are inquiring about. I carry my PM9 3 days out of the week and I wanted my EDC triggers to be as alike as possible. Now I'm pretty used to the PM9 trigger and don't have a problem with the difference so I'm not changing the 19. HTH. ETA this set up is approved by Glock.

I also agree about the Sig P250. I got my P250 Compact 9mm first and then got my K9. The DAO triggers are very similar and smooth. I wish the trigger on my S&W 642 was nearly as nice :)

You may want to look at the new Walther PPX.
It's a hammer fired DAO gun.
I haven't tried it, but the trigger is supposed to be excellent.

My vote is Kahr make the double-stacked guns. I know this has been kicked around the forum before. They could widen the grip slightly and give us say 12-13 rounds of 9mm in a P/K sized pistol that would barely be wider than a single stack. I would be all over that. :)

Yes-sir-ee-bob. If I could get a double-stack TP9, 13-15 rounds, I'd be in hog heaven. Its my dream sidearm.

2nd that motion. Make it a "C" version for cost, call it CT9, 15 + 1, I'm in. The perfect bog brother to my CW.
For now, the M&P shield plus M&P full size may be the hot ticket for a two gun combo with striker fired trigger.
