So I went to the LGS to pick up 4 boxes of ammo for a range trip and ended up leaving with a Glock 23 ! I really should not be allowed to go to the LGS ever LOL. ;)

I will say that this purchase was totally my wife's fault and she even admits it. She has been looking at Glock 23's for quite a while and I kept telling her when I find a good deal I will jump on it.......Well today the guy I usually deal with tells me to come over here and take a look at this...... I walk over and there is a Gen 3 Glock 23. He gets is out and I look at it and unfortunately it has a bit more wear and tear on it then I wanted so I handed it back and said yeah it's a bit more rough than I really wanted. He says no worries I got 5 more in the back for you to look at. We go back there and I end up finding one that has almost no noticeable wear on it at all! In fact the other 4 I looked at were almost worn smooth where you grip the gun and this baby looks like it has hardly been handled. Then to top that off it has Trijicon Night Sights already installed on it and came with two mags, a case, mag loader, and all the original paperwork. I ended up walking out of there with it for $359.00. How do you think I did?

After shooting the Glock 23 I am selling my Smith and Wesson Sigma as I won't be shooting it much anymore! Yes the Glock 23 is that much better :D

Sounds good. I just got a 23C and a 19 this month... my first two Glocks. With the possible changes coming, I wanted to make sure that I had some high-capacity "compact" pistols for my wife and me. I might even get a full lower and Mech Tech upper in the future, but it's hard to beat my Kahrs for concealed carry choices. I usually carry my P40... Mag-na-ported with 180-gr GDSB's loaded.

I resisted Glock most of my life. It seemed like my friends who own Glocks were almost cult-like. I wanted no part of that. My world does not revolve around Glock; I like a wide variety of firearm brands.

But last year, I quietly purchased a G19 Gen4 mostly to see what the fuss was all about. Although I didn't tell my buddies, I liked it, and a few months later I bought a G23 Gen4.

I can't say enough about the simplicity in design, outstanding engineering and reliability. Yes, they are larger than my Kahrs, but in my climate, they can easily be concealed 3 seasons of the year. Though I never expected it to happen, the G23 has become my favorite pistol, hands down.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I like mine.

Last I was beat so I didn't include my range report for the G23 but I have to say it is one of the easiest shooting guns I own! :D The first shot I took with it was from about 30 feet and I was shooting at a 3" diameter spinner and drilled on the first shot. My wife and I both found that we love the trigger on the gun and it just seems like when you bring the gun up you are on target every time. My wife was able to drill out a 3" hole in the center of one target with about 40 shots.

Now I have to say I wasn't sure what the big hype regarding night sights was as I have never had any before but after playing around with the gun in the dark last night it's pretty cool! The G23 has now become my nightstand gun and it's comforting to roll over and be able to see the three dots glowing in the dark at night.

I've got a gen 3 G27 that I enjoy shooting very much.
With a 40-9mm barrel and G19 mags you can shoot 9mm from your G23 as well.

I sleep in pitch black and like the reinsurance of glowing NS too.
If nothing else,
being able to locate the gun instantly in the dark is a great advantage.

BTW you can use G22 mags and an X-Grip for home defense providing extra capacity.

Good choice on the G23. you may need to be banned from the LGS for a little while. i know i am!!!! The G23 is a great gun. I wanted a g19 but got a 23 first. I liked it so much I went back and bought a 19 as well. They are great guns. I live in texas so I can only carry the glocks about 3 months out of the year. The rest of the year I carry my Kahrs.

I've carried a G23 on duty for twelve years, and it is a fantastic pistol. Utterly reliable and easy to shoot.

For that price you stole it. If I saw one for that price I'd have to get it myself, need it or not.

Glocks are cheap and reliable. I ran a G21 to over 125,000 rounds. Only have 9 these days...

I bought one in 2008 when 40 was the only ammo that I could get. Its an OK gun but I just cant seem to love it.
