A couple of inconsistencies by the dog's owner.....but the dog was not charged by the police: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/26/17107343-florida-man-shot-by-his-dog-police-say?lite

Not a first by any stretch of the imagination.

According to the police report, Lanier said he was driving along State Road 17 North when the dog kicked "the unloaded .380 pistol." It went on to say that Lanier was "surprised" to learn not only that the gun was loaded, but also that it was actually a 9mm weapon, not a .380.

Too bad the dog wasn't good enough a shot to help cleanse the gene pool.

Did the dog have a license for the handgun ?

I'd lay odds it was a kel tec and I have enough information to do a proper profile on the guy (short answer=Moron) but I promised myself I wouldn't do that anymore.

Gee..what part of that would make you use the word moron?

Hey, he's not a total moron. A .380 is considered to be a 9 mm short in a lot of places in the world.

Are you guys even seeing the story linked at the bottom Woman shot by oven while trying to cook waffles (http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/21/17045722-woman-shot-by-oven-while-trying-to-cook-waffles?lite)

Nevermind the story, I'm LMAO just from that title.

Anyway though... in the interest of the public we better get on with lobbying for the banning of dogs riding in trucks, ovens, and women cooking waffles.

I saw that some time ago. The details look like this: Man had a Glock magazine loaded with I believe 4 rounds and kept it stored in the oven. He had the pistol elsewhere. Girlfriend wants to make some late night waffles and starts the oven to preheating. Bang went the rounds. Smells a little more than fishy to me.

Yea, cause who makes waffles in an oven?

Thats because they did Mrs. Paul's fish stick in there earlier.

I was thinking more like who loads 4 rounds into a magazine, who has their pistol separated from the magazines, who keeps a magazine in the oven, how do the rounds that cook off have enough ass to penetrate the oven (given that the brass will basically pop off of the bullet absent a bbl), how does the bullet part actually hit her with no barrel/pressure containment and no method to direct the bullet (odds slim and next to none) etc. for the fishy parts. The waffles thing I get, and absent a toaster, the oven works for the frozen kind.

The other thing I wonder about is that given the above, why the fire department won't enter anywhere they think there might be ammo.

That what he gets for not feeding the dog and open floor carrying. :D
