I just returned from the range and finished shooting my new Kahr CM9 and Sig SP2022(9mm) for the first time. Both guns shot and functioned flawlessly as expected. I must say though, I was really surprised at just how good the CM9 was! I put 200 rounds of Tulammo through the Kahr and 100 through the Sig. With the CM9 I was using two 6 round mags and one 7 round mag. No problem out of any of those too. The CM9 will soon take over as my EDC from my current Glock 27. I will be keeping it though as I love that little guy as well!

A man can't have too, many guns. You picked a winner.

Congrats on the Kahr! I know I love mine heck it has gotten to the point I feel naked without it . My wife started getting concerned when I started tucking it into the bed at night beside me.......I am glad to hear it cycled well on the Tualmmo ammunition. I have always been skeptical of it considering it is steel case and wondered if it could mess up the polished/plated ramp on the Kahr's.

I seriously doubt if tuammo willhurt ur feed ramp. Some people, myself included don'thave alot of luck wioth that brand. My K9 hates it, It really was not much lower in price than my walmart wwb 100 pak 9mm, so I shoulde stick to american ammo and be happy about it.

Good to hear it won't harm the ramp. I agree that I have never had great luck with Tulammo and don't buy it anymore. I would caution people using it to clean the gun up after shooting. I have had the my xd9 get a gummy brown substance on it after a couple hundred rounds of tulammo, which is what made me stop using it.

Ya, I wasn't excited about using the Tulammo but given the current ammo situation I thought I'd use it for the break-in. I have 600 rounds of Speer, Armsicor, and Federal put away. Next time out I'll try a handful of each. Since it wasn't picky about the Russian junk it should feed what ever I throw at it.:D

Good to hear it will eat steel case. CCKahr5 (http://www.kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=12114) How did the SP2022 like the steel case? My sp2022, also in 9mm hates it and I actually broke my extractor using wolf.

welcome aboard enjoy your stay & your new toy.
if yours will eat what ever you feed it then have at it, some prefer to only use certain brand ammo & others will throw in whatever they can find.
personally myself i have only fired federal through mine with no issues, some folks will say to fire the same brand ammo during your breakin of a few hundred rds.
there's also guy's that have had many diff mags loaded with diff brands of ammo for breakin & they have had no complaints.

The SP2022 ran through the Tulammo without a hiccup! I probably will not use it anymore after hearing your outcome.

Congrats on the new CM9. I like you recently purchased a PM9 and have fallen in love with it!

400 rounds now through my CM9 without a glitch. Put the rubber Talon grips on. Very comfortable and amazingly accurate for such a little gun.
Run 6+1, two mags with Pierce extensions, and a 7 round mag. All function flawlessly.
Even disassembly and assembly is now a piece of cake.
Could not be happier with this gun for concealed carry.

Welcome one and all! Here's some info and links. I figure there are several new guys here and not all have seen all of this stuff!:)
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:

Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
One very important bit of advice: Hold the Kahr pistol firmly when firing OR CHAMBERING a round. These compact pistols need all of the force they can get from the slide to get a round into the chamber successfully. If you don't hold the pistol firmly, part of the needed momentum is transferred to MOVING THE PISTOL and the top round will DIVE and jam into the right side of the feed ramp. The weak hand, over hand rack method gives the best grip and a firm rack will give you the best chance at chambering a round.
Use the weak hand fingers over the slide(clear of the ejection port), thumb along the slide and pointing to the rear. Use the gun hand to simultaneously firmly push the gun as you give a vigorous rack with the weak hand and cleanly release the slide as it reaches the rear limit and is "snatched" from the weak hand. This approximates a real rack from firing and beats the slide release method WHEN executed properly. Much more strength can be exerted when this is done closer to the body.
Here's a video on that. The first part is what I'm talking about:

There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!
