Has anyone here sent a pistol in to Kahr for their "Polish Package Deluxe" listed on their website under upgrades and sevices. The want $130 and say they polish feed ramps, slide stop lever, and barrel hood. They state they also polish the stainless steel slide.
Does this price sound reasonable? If you have had them do this service for you, how satisfied were you?
Responses will be appreciated. Zaman.

IMO a waste of time an money, u can dothe same thing for the barrel hood and slide stop lever and feed ramp, which comes highly polished anyway. as far as polishing the slide, they probalby excel in that area.
I would say their service would be excellentbut remember u gott pay ostage both ways to, flitz would do wonders for what I mentioned, let alone if u had a dremel and a polishing cotton cone, which would shine those part sup like a diamond in a goats a$$. Just sayin.

I already polished the ramp and barrel pretty well with Mothers mag polish but I don't think I can get the slide polished to where I would like it with Flitz or Mothers. Seems like kinda alot for just polishing the slide. Do you know of another reputable shop that would do a quality job polishing the slide at a lower cost?

There's nothing wrong with having a girl that brings home a paycheck and is pretty too. Just saying.

Heck yeah. Any gunsmith worth the shingle over his door should be able to polish that slide up purty.
If you seek the Jfootin see yourself in the mirror finish you'll need a good one.

zaman If you have acess to a bench grinder a low cost buffing pad and a green stick of compound will work wonders in short order with some mothers polish and alcohol to clean up. Or a couple hours of time with 600, 1000 and 2000 grit wet dry useing oil as lube. Might not be as purdy as jfootin's but very close.

Polishing certain parts for smoother function and i creased reliability is a good idea. But I wouldn't want a shiny gun that could interfere with my vision in a dangerous situation. Keep it matte on the outside, shine her up on the inside.

When I am shooting my custom mirror polished CM9, even in bright sunlight, I line up the black sights with white dots and I cannot see the top of the slide. I am not bothered by reflections.

JFootin, the only part that seems like it might catch your eye being highly polished is the slide back. I thought if I was to polish my PM9 I would leave that unpolished. Would you say that makes sense or doesn't that catch your eye either?

You could allways scuff up the back side with some 3m pads if it is to brite for you. I buffed 2 of my 3 completely. One I left the top and back side stock, only buffed out the sides. It makes no difference to me when shooting. next time I brake it down and think about it I will finish buffing that one too.

I guess I've never lined up for a shot with the sun behind me, so I have never been bothered by a reflection froom there, either.
