Curious...
Do you guys recommend changing the entire Recoil Spring Assembly or simply changing the outer spring?
Where (link) can I get the outer spring if that is your recomendation?
Also, when changing the RSA or outer spring, do you guys do the "Kahr tip of Racking 500 times procedure" all over again?

Most just replace the outer spring. I thought the CMs were a one piece deal but I haven't looked inside one so if it has an outer spring just go with that but I wouldn't be in any hurry either. I think they last a lot longer than most people think but it is cheap insurance too.
And no to the 500 thing, to me that's more of a lapping in, mating the parts type deal, not spring break in and I did mine with bullets. Easier on the hands.

the colonel is right on target and might I add this to cm9 owners and cm40 owers.
If u have the cm model with the 15 coil outter spring in them, kahr has now went to the 13 coil outter spring which is now the same as the 13 coil outter recoil spring that the wolffs gunsprings site offers to kahr owners who have the PM series. Now there is only one outter recoil spring for all PM and CM kahrs and it will be the 13 coil version. the nice thing about this now is that u can order from wolffs only the outter recoil springs and they even offer it in two poundages. One factory at 18# and one a tad stronger at 20.5#. Kahr still only sells the entire combination and it is just not needed, so u can save alot buy buying them from wolffs and get a poundage choice which kahr does not offer. I would suggest for sure going to the 20.5# poundage n the 40 cal cm and pm kahrs. I think the gun and shooter will appreciate it to. really not needed on the cm and PM9 series but again it works fine. I have the 20.5# in my PMJ9 which is magna ported.
The hand racking like the colonel states IMO is good for the initial process of mating surfaces faster while not shootin it, but by now when a recoil spring change is desired the gun should be smoother than an egg coming out of a chicken. HummI think I heard that from a famous kahr poster here before. Just sayin

Got my new spring from Wolff today for my CM40. Although I only ordered the 20.5# outer recoil spring, they also sent the inner spring and what I assume to be the trigger assembly spring.
Regardless, I only switched the outer spring. And, incidentally, the new spring only has 11 coils, vs the factory 13 coil spring.
