Greetings! I received my Concealed and Carry Permit last week (only took 30 exact days to get). And after days of research and going to gun shops (i was looking at Taurus Millennium Pros, Springfield XDm, Walthers PPS, and the Beretta Nano) i stumbled across a thin, yet elegant looking gun, the Kahr CW9.

I did a lot of research on it, and for the most part heard very good things. I guess a few years ago these things were easily being picked up for $320-$350 used and $400 new. But in my state and with things going on now a days, they have skyrocket'ed in price and hard to find. New they go from $500 to $550 in my area. After a few days i finally found one locally lightly used but new condition with barely a 100 rounds and included all original paper work and case for $400.

I will shoot it tomorrow and hopefully make me like it even more. It definitely feels fantastic in my hands.

The only thing i'll be wanting to buy is some sort of holster and an extra magazine.

If you are wondering the grip is a Hogue grip and feels fantastic! Anyways here's a picture of my new toy.

Welcome to the forum from WNC, CosmosLabs! :) There is a wealth of valuable information in the New Member Area (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56) and the Kahr-Tech (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27) sections of the forum. Also, read the owner's manual. Pay special attention to how to reinsert the slide stop lever when reassembling the gun.

CW9s can still be purchased in the mid $300s at some online retailers. But trying to find any guns in stock is a lotto right now with the buying frenzy. You did fine getting that still new looking pistol at $400 locally, though. And, IMO, you couldn't have made a better choice for a CC gun! :D So thin, light and concealable. Best trigger on the market. Surprisingly light on recoil and a fun gun to shoot. These Kahrs are solid built guns, too, and they just get smoother with a few hundred rounds thru them. They never wear out.

The best holster I have found for forget-it-is-there comfort 24/7 with my CM9 is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. It is available with j-hook, c-hook and velcro attachment method, and tuckable is an option. I have a tuckable one with velcro for if I need total concealment, but normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

Welcome aboard! That's a nice-sized pistol and I switched from my PM9 to the P40 after switching to the black metal magazine base plate kit from Kahr. I had to add a 3/32" by 3/4" inner diameter O-ring to stop pinches, though. I found that I can carry that size Kahr about as easily as the PM's.

Here's some more info:
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:

Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:

Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?

One very important bit of advice: Hold the Kahr pistol firmly when firing OR CHAMBERING a round. These compact pistols need all of the force they can get from the slide to get a round into the chamber successfully. If you don't hold the pistol firmly, part of the needed momentum is transferred to MOVING THE PISTOL and the top round will DIVE and jam into the right side of the feed ramp. The weak hand, over hand rack method gives the best grip and a firm rack will give you the best chance at chambering a round. Use the weak hand fingers over the slide(clear of the ejection port), thumb along the slide and pointing to the rear. Use the gun hand to simultaneously firmly push the gun as you give a vigorous rack with the weak hand and cleanly release the slide as it reaches the rear limit and is "snatched" from the weak hand. This approximates a real rack from firing and beats the slide release method WHEN executed properly. Much more strength can be exerted when this is done closer to the body.

Here's a video on that. The first part is what I'm talking about:

There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

So i shot a good 50 rounds today without any issues. Very smooth trigger pull but i have to get use to it. My shots seem to be off a bit when trying to sight it up, i may be anticipating the recoil so at that last moment im probably jerking it down. Hopefully I just need more practice and hoping its not a sight adjustment issues. I was shooting from roughly 7 and 10 yards back.

As far as holster i have ordered one from theholsterstore.net because i have tried my buddies single stack on me and it felt that it wasn't even strapped on me. It was only $30 with shipping.
