I just got on the waiting list @ my local gunshop. They called me when they got one in. I had to pay top $ tho, as they would not dicker on price,$650. They said the P380's sell as soon as they hit the shelf. Sure is a sweet shooter & hasn't missed a lick, right out of the box, accurate too @ SD distance.

I would wait.
There will be new players on the market soon that will make the P380 availability and price much better than it is right now.

I heard Smith&Wesson had one and I've seen the Diamond Back 380 and it looks like a baby Glock.

I've been wanting to pick up on one. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your? Best I could find was $369.

I may be going against the grain here but why does anyone want a .380? I think the best pocket pistol made is the PM9. If you have one of those why buy a .380? The cost and unavailability of the ammo are certainly negatives not to mention lack of power, compared to a 9mm. And before you all tell me about the virtues of the .380 let me say this: I've had a Kel Tec P3AT, an LCP, and a Sig P238, all decent guns. But they can't compare to the PM9. The PM9 is virtually the same size as the Sig with alot more potent caliber. I know it's personal choice, and this is my 2 cents worth.

I have a PM9 and a LCP. I rear pocket carry the LCP in a wallet holster as a BUG, and the PM9 is in the front pocket as a primary. That being said, in rare instances when concealment is paramount such as when in a Gun Free Zone the PM9 is too big and the LCP will still be with me. So to answer your question, it always allows me to have a weapon with me no matter the situation.

After a lot of thought I will wait to get a 380 until ammo gets cheaper and available. Maybe never. I agree that the PM9 is small enough to fit virtually every need for EDC. The only reason I wanted a 380 in the first place is that I have a perfect spot in my vehicle for it and it would be quite easy to pop into a pocket when I leave the vehicle.

Just left two P380s on the shelf that were for sale at The Marksman Institute in Tucson AZ, priced at $565.00. Any lookers near Tucson, grab them before they're gone.

Finally scored a P380 of my own! I work part-time in a gunshop, but we have only seen maybe 3-4 come in since they've been available (and of course all those went to customers who had prepaid); I had to go to Gunbroker for mine, and the price I paid was very competitive.
Here it is with my P9 for comparison:
