Can someone please verify if CW can be used in holsters made for 1911?

I wanted to get a Milt Sparks Summer Special II for my CW9, but I do not want to wait 5 months. I seems to recall reading about some Kahrs (may be just K series or TP series??) can share in a 1911 rigs..

I am wondering if I can just get a one for 1911 (3.5" - 4") size? Anyone tried that before? How's retention in that case?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Don Hume JIT for my CW9, and I was surprised that My Browning Hi-Power fits like it was made for the BHP. The BHP is slimmer that a 1911, so it may depend on how fitted the holster is to the Kahr CW9.

My 1911 will fit in my CW45 leather holster but my CW45 won't fit in my 1911 leather holster. It's too tight around the trigger on mine.

Thanks guys, sounded like it is not optimal to use a 1911 rig. Oh we'll, I will stick with my VM2 until I come across a SS2.

Thanks.

My guess is that it depends upon the rig, but (FWIW) my CW 9 fits fine in a Safariland holster I use for my Colt OACP and also in a Galco holster molded for 5" 1911s.
Here's the CW9 in the Safariland:

Same here, but my CW45 fits nicely in my Glock27 holster.

No doubt... and when I put the CW9 in a G26 holster, it is loosy lose, zero retention. I guess design of the rig will make a big different.

Anyway.. I'll settle on the VM2 for now.. only reason I prefer SummerSpecialII over VM2 is that for a slim/thin/light kahr, a dual loop holster is just an overkill... oh well, it is very comfortable none the less.

I bought a blackhawk holster for a glock 26/27 and it fits the CW45 like a glove very nice too.

Which model Blackhawk holster did you buy for your CW45?
