Interesting blog post. Claims that Glock is backordered 1.2 million guns, which is nearly a year of 100% production at all three factories.

I'd have asked if those are civilian orders, LEO, or DHS.

Saw this earlier, if this is true I say we nominate Obummer and Biden for gun salesmen of the year, and for the last four as well.

I still see Glocks in plentiful supply at local LGS.
And they don't seem to be price gouged either.
With something like 50/60% of LE using Glocks I wonder if the back-order has to do with Federal, State and local replacement of service weapons?
Obummer has definitely sold more weapons and ammo than any single individual I can think of.
Having everyone re-evaluate their stance on gun ownership.
And how much they value the second amendment.
Seems like a silver lining to all of this.

For a regime apparently desirous of disarming the people, the whole gun ban thing seems to have been a major tactical blunder.

+1 on that Bawanna. Reminds me of the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Feinstein, Schumer, et al.

The only Glocks I have seen around here for the past 6 months have been very well used police trade in's.
Here, G19s sell as soon as they land. Other models are more readily available.

Around here, none of the 9mm models are ever available. Seeing 10mm, .45, .45 acp/gap, but 9mm is gone the second they hit the display. G19 are non existent, G17 and G26 show up every couple weeks.

in my neck of the woods there's always a glock "something", a few KelTecs, and a ton of Taurii available in every shop. We have more trouble trying to find good handguns around here.:D

Our LGS Shooters has a whole bunch of everything, but they didn't have the G19 that I wanted a few weeks ago. I was in there today and tried to count the Kahrs in the case... upwards of 40! That didn't include the used ones!
All I bought was a small Glock mag holder for 9/40 double stacks... $11.99 + tax... under $13 out the door. I did notice that a few things that were on sale the last time... hundreds of S&W 15/22's were no longer $399.99 but $529.99 and the once $949.99 .223 version was a few hundred more... at least.
I'm just so happy that I got my sight installation tools from the Glock Store today. Now I can install mine. I watched their video on the Sight Pusher yesterday, so I'm ready to go tomorrow. I just enjoyed a 2010 bottle of Barons de Rothschild (Lafitte) Bordeaux... not too chère at only $13.99... from Total Wine. it went well with my large salad and leftover medium rare tenderloin.:hungry:
Sigh... such austerity... :amflag:

I stopped in at the local police supplier in Indy last week to see what Glocks they had in. They had 6-7 Glocks in the display case. Got to talking to one of the ladies and she said they were backordered over a hundred guns and over a 1000 magazines and had no idea when they would be getting any orders in. When I ordered some magazines from Glock last month, I got a phone call fron a lady telling me they had stopped selling guns and magazines to armours unless they were military or LE, was I either? told her I was retired LE she told me to fax her a copy of my retired ID and she would get the magazines shipped out to me. Had them about a week later.

Guess I'm lucky in Tampa.
Shooting World had a wall of ARs again.
And stock of just about any standard handgun you might want.
Prices have climbed for sure and mag are less plentiful.
The real shortage in my neck of the woods continues to be ammo.
Local and web based supply is non-existent or highly over priced.
I keep thinking I need to buy more guns and ammo.
But the truth is I'm in very good shape right now.
I'm only shooting range ammo and not mine at this point.
Guess it's time to wait and watch.
See how this mess is going to unfold.

Glock is like the others, just trying to get caught up. My local Glock rep said it will be at least 18-24 months before they catch up and only if the current craziness slows down.

Plus, the buying frenzy drove the price of my new SA XD-s .45 up by nearly $100 from the time that I called about it til the time mine came in, about 2 weeks later. Thank you, Mr. President, you owe me $80. And don't forget Ammo Salesmen of the Year. That stuff is flying off the shelves, getting 9mm range ammo on line is almost impossible, and the gun dealers in my area are limiting how much range ammo they will sell per customer. Effing insane.

They said Tremors was fiction, but I see lots of sink holes. I think the Graboids got out of Perfection.

At my last range trip, the LGS had 2 G19's out in the display case at $549.99 each + $5 NICS + 7% tax. I paid $529 + $25 transfer fee for mine... still saved a little and had it two weeks ago. Shooters had tons of Glocks... where I got my G23C, but no G19's.
I'm still waiting on my four Korean copy G17 mags from Botach and my four XD45 mags from PCO... two months so far on the latter! I paid for those two months ago!
I can't find any 9mm or .40 FMJ to order... at my prices! I'm not paying $450 or more per case of 1,000!

I just loaded up my G23C with 180-gr Bonded Remington Golden Sabers and pulled my K9 off the line... well, actually pulled the PM45 off the line and replaced it with the night-sighted, CT Laser-Gripped K9.:D It's loaded with Double Tap 124-gr +P GD's and the PM45 with 230-gr GDSB's.
The PM45 joins the P40 for normal EDC... night for the first and day for the latter. I still need some kind of night sight upgrade for the P40! I want those HD NS for it so bad!

Right now, ammo is the ultimate seller's market. It's like they've got a lemonade stand set up in the middle of a desert or something. :(

I know... and I can only get one box of range ammo at the range for RANGE use... and the owner looks like he wants to keep that for some of the day-shooters, since I'm a member and he already has my range money. 50 rounds of the range ammo extends my supply, but I need to stop trying to shoot 250 rounds a visit.
