I have 1k of 124 gr plated fp coming. Hogdon web site does not list an oal for the fp bullet type.
I plan to load with WSF or 231. I have load data for the 124 gr fmj w Wsf but the oal will be different for the fp.

Any one have a manual or good source for the oal w either 231or wsf?

Correction, I HAVE 1k of these sitting on my bench waiting for me to determine an oal to load to with either WSF or 231..............

OK, Captian, so you can get started on those 124 gr flat nose bullets here is the OAL for you to load them with: 1.040 Min OAL
Using 231 powder the range of loading grains is: Start load = 3.9 gr @ 950 fps. (don't go any lower than 3.9) Next up 4.3 gr @ 1000 fps, Next, 4.8 gr @ 1050 fps I use 4.8 to 4.9 gr and the max load is 5.2 which some books no longer recommend and have lowered to 4.9 gr. Now get busy.

Note: You can load them longer if they will chamber in your gun. I load another brand of this same bullet shape and weight at an OAL of 1.080, but make sure they will chamber in your gun at that length.

A good starting load of 231 would be 4.3 gr for plated 124 gr Rainers
