I am considering buying a 7rd mag for my cm9 (with an extension). I have heard many people say that they have issues with them. Can anyone debunk this? I would love to get thoughts about this....

This has been discussed ad infinitum. You can find lots of discussion by either doing a search or simply scrolling part way down this forum page.

The short answer is that it canNOT be debunked.

yes there are ALOT of threads regarding this issue, some say they have nothing but feed problems & others say they work flawless.
it has been thought that it's the way you grip the gun with the ext mags, myself when shooting i have gripped several different ways & strengths with 0 issues.
so myself i can say mine works great without issues with all 3 of my ext mags, some will chime in tell you the same thing & others will chime in & tell you your just wasteing your money don't do it & that it was the worst thing kahr ever came up with.
so with that being said evidentally it's a crap shoot, so if your a gambler find some ext mags & give it a try.
good luck & keep us updated if you choose to try the 7 or 8rd mags.

I had one and it worked fine. I didn't like the way it pinched my finger and since I had no plans to carry with it I sold it.

Appreciate the input. I guess what I will try to do is get a Pearce extension for my 6 round mag and see how I like that (I am also trying to get a better grip)....Then, I may consider trying the 7 rd mag and see how that goes. Will let you all know.
Thanks again!

I have no problems with my 8 round mag You shouldn't have any problems with 7 round mag I did do the follower mod and that makes it run good

I use the 2- 7 round mag from my cw9 an the two I have work fine but not tried the extended base model. Also use a 8 round mag as the backup that works well in both.

If the 6 and 7 round mags cost roughly the same, I would love for you to buy a 6 round mag and then trade it with me for my 7 rounder. When I target shoot I use both magazines and have never had a misfeed or any type of failure, but I just like the consistency of having two identical mags. And also like the smaller mag since my PM9 is me EDC.

You might want to check out grabagun.com. I got a 6 round mag the other day for $36 and change shipped.

I agree this has been discussed alot. I became interested recently and searched and found extensive discussions. Some say they do not work, others say they are just find, and most importantly some modified their mag followers so that those that previously did not work well do now. This is a good place to learn from others. I was so impressed I bought 2 7 round mags and 2 A&G mag extesions to fill in the space. They give the gun a big single stack feel. Good luck. Now if I just find some reasonable 9mm ammo.:)

I have one 6 round and four 7 round mags and ive yet to have a malfunction from any of them. If you happen to get one that wont work then you can just send it back to kahr. I love my 7 rounders and I think there nice to have.

After trying to find reasonably priced ammo everywhere, I found that if you go to the range, you can usually get some decent 9mm ammo for about 20-21 bucks for a box of 50...Just buy 3-4 boxes, shoot 2 and take the others home...That is how I have built my stash:)

Thanks dolphman. I don't know why I have not thought of this myself. I will try it.

Trouble with that is that a lot of ranges are limiting ammo purchases to one box.
