Hi everyone, Many thanks for your previous enlightening and often humorus replies.
Kahrasaurous (Jan. 1995 K9) due within the day, or so.
A question;
Am I correct in remembering that some models were produced with two (2) recoil springs, as in, a "pair"? Think I even saw a pic somewhere?

I will have FMJ's with me when I pick her up, will want to immediately, possibly before background and handoff, run a few rounds though her for function but! I'm wondering about those recoil spring/s.
I haven't found enough about the early/originals; no schematics, yet!

Double or single springs? Am I dreamin'?
Not on the red, yet. :+)

good question. I cannot give u an answer, there are memers herewho have that vintage kahr like urs, so I am sure an answer willbe forthcoming.

If ur kahr has the single sprign, u should be abletop go to wolffs gunsprings ad order that spring for the K9, they offer it in factory 20# and then 22 and 23# if u so desire.

I'm wondering what your concern is?

It most likely will have a guide rod and a single spring unlike the poly frame versions which have an inner contained spring and an outer loose spring.

If you have issues as Jocko pointed out you can get a new spring from Wolfe or the Kahr shop.
Until you have issues I wouldn't be the slightest bit concerned.

I'm simply wonderin' and tryin' to educate myself about this early model and possible parts availability issues/challenges for the "vintage" models of the K9.

Yup, coulda' been a pic for a different model I saw along the line somewhere, thanks

Gotta ask; Is that an "authentic" pic of that wise lookin ol' bird in the cockpit on his logo? The guy appears to be quite a legendary lookin' sort of figure, by my judgement. Is that a bi-plane? :+)

The small Kahrs use a double recoil spring. The K and T size, (medium and large Kahrs), use a single recoil spring.

Legendary without question, authentic, not so much. You might have ate his chicken. The boys and girls having fun with me. Don't like to mention names so I won't say Tinman in this post.

I figured you had a concern about a weak spring or issue. I predict you'll be fine and trouble free. And getting a spring if needed should be a walk in the park.

Ok; thanks to the responses recieved and some seaching at this wonderful Kahr site.
Duh! K9 "single" recoil spring, replaced..
It's probably included in a sticky somewhere hereabouts already but...slick trick discovered after a coupla tries barehanded; my K9 guide rod has a hole in the rear where it fits to the barrel, I stuck a plastic pen tip(retracted) there and was able to steer that guide rod right into place while compressing that new spring..Vualaa! (sp)
The new standard 20# recoil spring; 20 coils = 5 in. new, installed, like 2-1/4in. compressed, prexisting spring relaxed now to 4 in.

Still works the same...perfectly! :D

Be well all.
