I bought a Glock 22 last..... it is a 2006 gen 3, but has only seen 150 rounds. The nite sights are a bit weak, but it came with 4 mags, and 50 rounds of HP .40 cal! I got what I consider a pretty good deal on it, but will most likely flip it and make a quick Banjamin on the deal, plus a box of ammo, just because I can....
I do like the feel of those big glocks....which I don't necessarily like the fact that I like them, but what can you do? They are a fantastic combat pistol.

Justin I've got a Glock 26 that I've been thinking on flipping for over a year now. Now trying my best to keep things real, I don't know weather it's because deep down in one of the farthest corners of my heart I do actually sort of,kind of, or maybe have, some kind of possitive feeling for the ugly looking piece of black plastic. How could that possible be though,as it has the square look and ergo's of your average brick, and the grip angle of a cheap garden tool?? Maybe I better go someplace to contemplate my true feelings on the topic and see if I can figure this all out in private.:emptybath:(thinking ,thinking)

You might want to go over to the 1911.org forum. There's a big discussion going on over there right now about taking your glock into combat.

I have a 21 I've contemplated parting with for a long time. Don't think it has a 100 rounds thru it.
I think maybe it's nice to have one gun that you know works great but you don't love in the least in case you need to grab one you might not be able to bring home if that make the tiniest bit of sense to anybody.
I keep it in my nightstand with a Surefire light on it. Unloved, untouched for long periods of time but see it every night.
The one thing I do like is the confidence that I have by being able to take it down completely. Sure not difficult, I think a 5 year old could do it but it pleases me none the less. My standards are low apparently.

Much as I hate to admit it, I want to add a Glock 19 to the collection. But I'll add a CZ P01 before I add the Glock. And if given the choice, I think I'd take the CZ into battle before I'd take the Glock.
But I agree w/ Bawanna on the 'not being able to come home w/ it' argument. I could stand to live w/o my Kahrs, so I carry them. If the SHTF, I want my higher capacity stuff available, so they typically stay home or just go to the range.

I know for sure I'll grab my CZ PO1 or 75B before I grab my glock or any polymer pistol.

I appreciate Glock pistols, and the 22 is my favorite. In my opinion, it is my "go to war" piece. Let me know what you want for it.

Congrats on the Glock justin.
I think they are good pistols, but I'm not overly enamored with them.
I've a G27 that's been a fine pistol for me.
I had a G3OSF that had the failure to return to battery issue that was not uncommon with them early on (I've not stayed in the loop, so I don't know if this is still an issue). Polishing the trigger bar and striker block cured the RTB issue, but I just found the slide to wide for me to carry comfortably IWB, so I sold it.
I just bought a new Gen 3 G19 and it ejects erratically. I wasn't overly concerned about that, but it has jammed once already (case caught in the ejection port) in the first 200 rounds (that's one more than my CW9 has had in over ten times as many rounds). I've parts on the way that will supposedly sort it out.
Regards,
Greg

I have really embraced the polymer pistols. My first was my PM9 and it's a choice, but I've gone to my larger Kahrs for EDC... usually the P40 for day and the PM45 for night, and occasionally the P380 for short forays away from the home site.
I can't see lugging around half a pound or more EXTRA of pistol when I can carry the lighter polymers.
I think we have enough larger capacity pistols now with the XD45, G23C, and the G19. I've been thinking of paring down the lesser used pistols and safe "queens" to recoup some of my recent large expenditures on guns and ammo. A couple will be the steel pistols that were "must haves" but one is in the safe and another is esily replaced by one of the larger capacity Glocks for home defense.
I'm used to getting rid of pistols that I don't really use. I don't like them just sitting neglected and want them to have new homes. Also, Wifey will think better of my spending sprees of late!
I just can't take all of my toys to the range and pop off 200-250 rounds once a week with only 50 rounds available from the LGS/Range. I can see my ammo supply becoming less "secure" with all of the sources "out of stock" day after day....

My tricked out G27 has been good to me.
With all the endless after market parts and ease to work on.
I've been able to experiment with calibers, porting, sights and trigger options.
It's been a fun ride.

Okay, Glocks are butt-ugly, but they work. My duty Glock 23 has over 5,000 rounds through it with only one failure to fire and that round fired on a later try. When these get traded in I will buy this one as I have carried it daily for 12 years and is an old friend. Swap the recoil spring out every few thousand rounds and they will run forever.

I just put my G23C into "service" replacing my K9 as my TV chair gun, which replaced the PM45, which is moving into EDC Night along with the P40 for Day. I'm going to have to start selling stuff before too long... got too many to shoot... with a lot less ammo available!

I think we all have to admit that we like our glocks. I have a G19 and a G23, both gen 4. The G19 is my night stand gun and the G23 is my office gun. Sometimes, you just need a good ole reliable double stack gun.

I have never liked Glocks, they just do not "fit" my hand. Had a fella a couple of years ago that told me that if one loves 1911's they will hate Glocks. The opposite would be true, too.
It has a lot of the "Lego" feel of them to me but it also has to do with being an extension of my hand. There is zero natural feel for me. This has nothing to do with the quality of the firearm, just the feel.
And as I have advised many folks, if it doesn't feel right in your hands, keep looking for something that does. For those that love Glocks, more power to them. I've tried and the "best" I've found is the 23. However, a mangled Cresent wrench feels much better.
And I hate Cresent wrenches, or as I tend to call them Cresecnt hammers, as that is all they are good for.

Congrats on the glock. I dunno. I must like to swim upstream. I don't own a glock and it is probably for the same reason i don't own an AR. Both are ugly, but it must be more than that. I couldn't be that shallow, could I?

I had never fired one and had always put them down, but last month I decided to buy two... the G23C for me and the G19 for Wifey... both Gen 3's. I just put the Trijicon HD NS Orange-outline FS on the 23 and we need to see what Wifey needs with her poor eyesight. The Yellow FS are better for night, but I think the Orange are better for day... just not as bright at night. The yellow looks like a giant Tritium dot when "charged" in the dark. The orange is darker and kind of disappointing for night in that respect. The dots are still Tritium and good, though.
Oh, yeah, Obummer and the new anti-gun push made me do that!

I think we must be related. I dislike Glocks for the same reason, it rhymes w/ blocks and feels like one in my hand. Nothing against them, they just feel wrong. I've been thinking about a Glock 19, mostly because, well, just because! If everybody else has one, I guess I should to0. But every single time I lay hands on one, I back down. I'll end up w/ another P250 or a CZ at some point instead, most likely.
But the Crescent wrench comment made me laugh. I just had to replace my kitchen faucet recently. It's a corner sink, so the damn thing is jammed up there where I had to snake myself under the cabinent and into the corner under the whole mess. Had a basin wrench and a Crescent wrench and fought it for 2-3 hours trying to get the SOB off. I finally got so freakin' mad that I used the Crescent HAMMER to beat the ever loving sh*t out of the faucet from the top. My wife thought I had gone nuts. Probably couldn't have passed a Diane Feinstein background check THAT day for sure. But, the Crescent wrench made an EXCELLENT hammer. Finally got it all off, beating the crap out of it, only to discover my 2-3 hours had been wasted, rusted up into a solid piece of metal...no WAY it was coming off w/ wrenches.
So maybe I do need a Glock...

For years, I felt the same way. Glocks did not fit me. Then last year, I tried a Gen4. That was a deal changer for me. The smaller backstrap and larger mag release is the combination I needed.
The G23 has become my favorite shooting pistol. And, during the cold winter months, I can easily conceal it in a hybrid IWB holster.

I don't really dislike Glocks, I know there good pistols. I just do not share the love for them that others seem to. Like I mentioned I don't love it but can't seem to bring myself to actively try to sell it either.

My gen 3 G27 feels like a brick to hold.
But I shoot it extremely well.
Particularly after tuning the trigger and adding a near match grade barrel.
For the price Glocks are hard to beat.

It took me years of fiddling with the same loosening faucet in the kitchen and buying different tools, but I finally got the thing I had needed for years... a set of those claw foot wrenches... perfect for working in cramped areas way up under the sink and surrounded by pipes and hoses and drains, etc. I got a cheap set at the China Tool Store! And danged if these aren't made in India!
Another Harbor Freight goodie.
These work well with all of my ratchets and extensions that I already had.

wyn, I've got something similar called a basin buddy. I've only run across 1 sink setup that the 'universal' basin buddy didn't fit. but the position of this friggin sink made even getting a socket up in there impossible, then the rust. ugh.
This is COOL, we have turned a discussion on Glocks into a DIY sink repair discussion. How slick is THAT!?

In our defense, he might want to use his new Glock as a hammer. We were just trying to help!

Glocks hold up to any abuse. Even being used as a hammer. It does kinda piss them off, though, so take extra care to keep fingers out of the trigger guard.
For some reason I really like my Gen2 23 enough to have it on the short list of keepers nmw.
