Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find this exact scenario. I just traded for a PM40 and think I got screwed. The polymer underneath the recoil spring is chipped and missing pieces. Is this a known issue? Is the gun safe to shoot? I will try to take a pic for clarification. Thanks

A picture would be helpful. New guys have all kinds of questions about possible problems. It's probably fine, but can't tell without knowing what you're looking at.

It is hard to see anything in your picture, but if you are talking about that notch it is perfectly normal.

To the right of center and front of the frame... can you see a HOLE there?? It looks like we can see your finger or something through a hole there. If so, that isn't right!
It's not unusual to see parts of the embedded metal rails like the other slivers to the rear of that.

No. The largest spot to the front of the frame below that witness mark is imbedded metal.

Ok, so if that isn't your concern, what is the issue? I can't see anything out of the ordinary in the thumbnail photo.

PM me with an email address so we can make arrangements for me to take that POS off your hands. I'll offer a couple of nice crisp $100 bills as a starting point. http://home.mindspring.com/~justsomeguy/icon_lol.gif
Guys..
The OP is referring to the frame polymer in the guide rod area.
You can see it’s worn down to where you can actually see the metal.
It also looks to be thinning or dented in other areas.
IMO...it’s not good and I'd call Kahr.
The person that traded with you is a real slime ball IMO.
I enlarged the pic so others could see what you’re talking about...and offer some insight possibly.

Man, that looks like there was some sort of an incident with a broken guide rod, or something. I'd say that, with a healthy RSA, no additional damage will occur and you can just forget about it and shoot it like you stole it.
