Hi all, new Kahr owner here. Just bought a CW40 and a CM9. Thanks for providing a great service for Kahr owners. I'm left handed and looking for an IWB holster, first hand experience would be helpful.

Welcome to the forum, jerdebson! :) There is a wealth of valuable information in the New Member Area (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56) and the Kahr-Tech (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27) sections of the forum.
And welcome to the CM9 Owners Club! :D Our official symbol is the wide grin smily because we are so happy with our purchase that we can't wipe the smiles off our faces!
Here is your club badge.

I am a lefty, too! :) The best holster I have found for forget-it-is-there comfort 24/7 with my CM9 is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur! Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. I normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

Welcome to the "funhouse", Jer'.
Here's some links and info:
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:

K series:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=14750
Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
One very important bit of advice: Hold the Kahr pistol firmly when firing OR CHAMBERING a round. These compact pistols need all of the force they can get from the slide to get a round into the chamber successfully. If you don't hold the pistol firmly, part of the needed momentum is transferred to MOVING THE PISTOL and the top round will DIVE and jam into the right side of the feed ramp. The weak hand, over hand rack method gives the best grip and a firm rack will give you the best chance at chambering a round.
Use the weak hand fingers over the slide(clear of the ejection port), thumb along the slide and pointing to the rear. Use the gun hand to simultaneously firmly push the gun as you give a vigorous rack with the weak hand and cleanly release the slide as it reaches the rear limit and is "snatched" from the weak hand. This approximates a real rack from firing and beats the slide release method WHEN executed properly. Much more strength can be exerted when this is done closer to the body.
Here's a video on that. The first part is what I'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=hjLbFOw8sow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=hjLbFOw8sow)
There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

Thanks for the welcome, I started reading here before I decided to buy the two I have now. I have watched YouTube videos and reviews for hours and appreciate the thoughts. I did wait to disassemble either for a couple of days. I'm glad I did. I have worked the action of the 40 several (hundred) times to start the smooth in process. I can't believe I am already looking at the CW45. I guess I should get the book out of the car.
I do have one question though, where is the signature line access?

Up on the blue menu line... "User CP". Some things have a minimum number of posts... 30 posts for posting actual pictures... but can post links from Online phoot storage places like photobucket and the like... using the image scene icon http://kahrtalk.com/images/editor/insertimage.gif and posting the link there... higher res than allowed on actual photos posted here.

I'm sure I must be dense today, I don't find "Signature". It might be one that has a cout on it. Thanks. Jerry

When you bring up the Control Panel, there should be a column of things to the left. Some may require a count... don't know. On mine, it's the third box down... Settings & Options. Avatar, Signature and other things are there.

I/We have an empty lot on Hwy 150 about 1/2 mile N of 160 and on the left... SW intersection of "Second ST or Ave"(Dirt road) and 150 on the way to the Sand Dunes Park. When we used to drive to visit my wife's folks between Durango and Bayfield, we would go by there once in a while to see what's going on. I've had it over 30 years... bought for resale but nothing going on there... seemed like a nice corner lot of 5 acres or so would be desirable.

My Control Panel shows the following, there must be a count requirement, oh well it doesn't matter. Thanks Jerry

Yeah, the Signature should be below the Avatar. I don't know if that will work, yet, either.

If you try the avatar and save it, you'll get an error message, but if you click on you old post or make a new one, it will usually show up correctly.

At least this forum doesn't throw ads at you or not let you have an avatar... other than their lame cartoon icons... or NOT let you post or read the gun ads.... Glocktalk sucks badly from what I've experienced. I couldn't even ask a question over there a few minutes ago... almost a month ago I was looking for Glocks... finally held my nose and agreed to all of their "draconian" do not rules about no adult words or even thinking bad words... and joined... I thought! Maybe I would have to have one of the PAYING memberships!
We're pretty friendly and can talk as adults... within reason, anyhow. There ARE limits and the "envelope" gets stretched a bit sometimes.:D

Thanks for all your help wyn. I have owned two G M19's, they were ok but I sold them for something that I liked better, I shot my brothers GM21 some but could never shoot it consistent. I couldn't grip it the same way twice in a row. The large grip isn't the problem, but the shape might have been, because I competed with a wide body 2011 9x21S+ for years. I hope the Kahrs work better for me. I come from the 1911 camp and own or have owned several S/A XDT or XDM pistols. The XDS is something of interest to me but if a CW45 shows up at a right price I will buy it first.

Click on the red-highlighted wyntrout and see my info, including my Kahrs. I would really like a P45 because I love that size. i tried to get one of the CW9 and considered the CW45... someone had a good price on a like new one with new night sights and I really though about getting it, but I prefer the PM and P lines with a little extra touches... no cost-cutting on the appearance and features. I help them but just couldn't "pull the trigger"!

That was something I had always wanted... a super compact .45! I did have a lot of trouble with mine from day one, but it was a learning experience for a lot of us and worth the trouble! I named "him" Boomer, but he became "Franken-Boomer" because he went back to Kahr 4 times and a fifth recently over splitting magazine tubes... the third instance of that. On return #3 they demonstrated that indeed it was destroying magazines and the only thing that stopped it was a new frame. If there's an original part, it's the slide stop... and they sent me two new ones to try, but they were SS and my pistol is black, so I sent them back. It's on its third slide because the replacement they put on around return #2 had REALLY weak engraving... had to hold it just right to even read it! It went back and got a good one as it came with originally.:D
Not all Kahrs have problems, but all of my new polymers(PM45 and 2 P380's) had to got back at least once and I had to replace parts they sent as well, but all are fine now. I am worried about magazines splitting, though, on the PM45! The last occurrence was in January, I believe... this time I declined sending the pistol back because it had just gone back a few weeks before and been declared okay... and they replaced all of my mags. The last time, I was trying out two brand new mags and some +P 230-gr ammo from Underwood... stout stuff. I don't think I'll use that in Boomer again, just my XD45. I carry 230-gr Speer Gold Dots Short Barrel... which have a wider at the bottom and shallower cavity than the regular Duty rounds. The 180-gr .40 GDSB is the same and I carry that in my P40. I just got a Glock 23C and put 230-gr Bonded Remington Golden Sabers in it. I like bonded bullets and have a bunch now. The Underwood uses regular Gold Dots instead of the Short Barrel version, but with the added velocity, should be pretty good, too. I got a case of that back in January before ammo dried up almost completely... and half a case of the Bonded Golden Sabers for the .40.
I saw bad times coming and wanted to get everything I wanted before "they" cut off Internet sales of ammo and "high-capacity" magazines... hence the two new Glocks and a dozen or so mags each! I didn't get the assault rifle, though, prices went crazy on those and I didn't want to pay 3x normal prices and try to get ammo AND magazines, too!
I got my "prepper" 10/22 January last year and a LOT of ammo... Stingers, several kinds of Sub-Sonic, and a lot of those Federal 525 Bulk packs. I put a bunch in vacuum bags and it seems that was a wise purchase. .22 is $10 a box of 50, IF you can find any! The 10/22 will have to be my "assault" rifle.:D
Wynn:)
Now I'm kind of worried about shooting too much of my FMJ because the range will only sell me one box a visit and shooting 200-250 rounds a visit will get me low before too long... on FMJ. I'm okay on .45, but really looking for 9mm and .40. I'm going to have to get Wifey to the range and figure what sights she needs on "her" Glock 19. She could rack my G23C, but the Kahrs are "too hard"....
Christmas before last we went to visit her folks near Bayfield and on Christmas day we had our family shooting in the back yard. I had carried Boomer with me on the flight... first time... and she shot that and a brother-in-law's 1911 4"... not 5" anyhow, and liked the 1911 best! Those usually are easier to rack. She hadn't shot anything in a decade, probably, and was used to the S&W revolvers... M15 or M18 in the USAF. Right now she has a H&R 929 9-shot revolver with 9 Stingers loaded at the head of her bed. I want to switch her to the G19 and put some kind of night sights on it. Her near vision is bad and it will take some shooting to see what she can shoot with. Getting old sucks! Eyesight is one thing that gets worse... I'm 66 and she just turned 57.
Picture of Boomer in travel safe cabled to luggage frame/spine. We got stuck in Denver overnight but our luggage made to Durango okay. On the return, we beat the luggage and had it delivered around 2AM! I waited up for the delivery and Boomer was okay. The case was opened going and coming and it's a good thing I KNEW the regs because one doofas at the airport wanted to put the "unloaded pistol" declaration INSIDE the gun safe rather than alongside it and another wanted to put a tag on the outside of the luggage... not allowed! I might just carry my P380 next trip... ammo's lighter and the pistol is easier to hide. I bought ammo on sale and got free delivery to Wifey's folks house and then prices were cheaper in Durango than here in Jacksonville for FMJ at Wally World. I guess I had better get back to bed!:D

With the changing laws and weather diverts, it could get dicey trying to fly with guns in your luggage! If you wind up in an unfriendly state, you might not want to claim your luggage and have its use for the night... still thinking about the guy that was diverted into New Jersey and arrested for that!

A few years ago my wife and I were in line waiting to get thru the TSA checks. I was pulled out of line and made to remove my shirt, shoes, socks and empty my pockets setting in a chair not ten feet from the rest of the passengers. Behind where we were in line were two mid-east looking men in their mid 20's that couldn't hardly communicate with anyone else laughing their a$$es off. The TSA people were too afraid of being accused of "Profiling" so they picked on the least likely person to cause a scene. I, being a milk toast average middle age white person, got caught in their embarasing act.
A few years back we took my wifes sister that is in a wheel chair to Vegas and boy was that a hassle. She came out of the glass walled room crying they acted so bad to her.
I wouldn't even try to travel with guns if not necessary.
