I just got through scanning proposed CT Senate Bill 1076. Wow! They are really intent on becoming the worst state in the country with regards to restrictive gun laws. Besides all the obvious "assault weapons" stuff, they want to now do the following ...
- require rifle permits as well as the already existing handgun permits.
- require all firearms purchases to be registered, with registrations needing to be renewed annually.
- require registration certificate to be shown for ammunition purchases. Presumably this is how they would get around the whole grandfathering issue. If you need new ammunition, you'd have to register your gun first.
There's lots of other good stuff, but that's enough for now. The bill is 59 pages long.
