Country boy went away to college, and after his first semester came back home for the holidays. When they sat down to supper, his paw asked "Son, what they been teachin' you at that there skool?". Son, "Well paw, lots of stuff, but really been liking my math classes. That's really some hard stuff". Paw, "So what's something you learned?". Son, "Well, we just finished working on this formula that lets you figure out how much space there is inside a circle, it's pi r squared." Dad, "You're a damned fool boy and you ain't a goin' back to that skool. Everybody knows that pie ain't square, pie r round."

It was a long way to go on a joke that's been around the block a few times. My grandfather told me that as a kid and everybody I know has heard it. But it had to be told again...on PI day. :D
I also realized I totally botched it. Hard to do, but yes, I did. The punchline is SUPPOSE to be.
"Everybody knows pie r round, cornbread r square".
I guess I'll retell it on cornbread day.

My momma makes a mean pecan pie. It looks exactly like Mrs. Brats too. I remodeled her house back some 20 years ago and the plumbers and electricians gave her a better price for having pie on hand and to go.
She made a lot of pecan pies during that project. I don't really got the teeth for em anymore but I eats em anyway I can, probably my hands down favorite round pekan pie.
Wunder, does round kornbread taste the same as skwar cornbread?

speaking of pi.... when carried out to 17 decimal places for the value of pi, the precision is adequate to compute the diameter of a Hydrogen atom at the extent of the known universe.
For my work, we generally figure 16 decimal places to be enough

Near as I can tell, round cornbread tastes the same, goes down easier than square.

I got scolded in 7th grade for incorrect answers in math.
Why do all of your answers have so many numerals, they are incorrect.
I used 3.141592654
Well, just use 3.14 ok?
Ok i replied.

Well now I aint never seen a cast iron skillet that was square and it aint cornbread if it weren't cooked in a cast iron skillet.

I have several square cast iron skillets...some that are 80+ years old (at least), so, yep, they do exist

For me any day can be cornbread day. In milk. With jelly. Plain ole butter. Plain ole cornbread. It's all good.
Oooo. Forgot. With applebutter. With honey. Chicken. Roast Beef. Bacon-n-Eggs. Ham-n-Eggs.
I'm like Bubba Gumpbread.
