Hi fellas. I just picked up a CW40 today (already have a CW9 and a CM9).

I haven't fired it yet, but I noticed an issue tonight that I didn't experience at the gun shop (likely because I didn't perform this operation there). With an empty mag in, I rack the slide back and the slide release catches it, but it is not fully seated UP into the slide (didn't notice this at the store). Then, when I push the button and release the magazine, the slide slams home into battery.

The only way I can get the release to fully seat into the slide is to nudge it up there. It did this before I disassembled it. I have disassembled it a few times since to be sure the release was being installed correctly, and I am very certain it is.

Any ideas? Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance. :yo:

Make sure your mag spring isn't in backwards... it happens.

Lol, maybe I got a Friday afternoon build mag? I'll check it and see. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks jocko. Didn't have this problem with my first 2, so I thought it might just be a quirk with this one.

The lead will fly Saturday. :D
