This site has about 30 (250 round) boxes left of this ammo. I think it's 9mm Speer Gold dot 124 grain +p but it doesnt say for sure. I looked up the part number and it seems like they match up. 63 cents per round before shipping, 71 cents per round after shipping for me.

Says on the box it is practice ammunition and not for LE use. But hollowpoints?

Something is fishy in Denmark here. My first thought was reloads but it don't really read like that either.

I too have never seen Gold Dots in 250 packages and never labeled for practice.

On the ammo find site i used to find this deal it said Speer. And the product number matches some other gold dot ammo online... Soooo ive got my fingers crossed.

indeed why would +P HP belabeledfor practice. I think I would shy away. until mayb eu callthem or email them for clarification. It is nickel plated cases so thatis a good sign, It is +P and HP, so just not sure why it is labeld like it is or boxed that way either.
doesn't mean it is bad sh!t either, but were gessin also.. U just don't normally see gold dots HP in 250 round loose boxes, just not the way quality ammo is boxed, but again with this ammo shortage like it is maybe speer is doin supin different also.

if one readstheir info carefully, I think it is new nickel cases and speer bullets but loaed by someone other than speer,

not sure u made a bad buy either. itis just alittle confusing with their wording and maybe that is the way they wanted it to. I think all the componets are NEW. I just do not think speer loaded them..

Maybe because they are a small arms company for the government they get bulk ammo to test their weps? Aaaannnd sell whats left over? I'm trying to be optimistic here lol

Yeah, it looks like they are loading these using GD bullets and new cases. Sounds alright. I think the "not for LE use" is a CYA.

So.. i was planning on using these as my home defense/carry rounds. You think that's fine if i test out maybe 50 or so in my guns first?

That looks like a good deal. Before this "shortage" I could get those for $25 to $28 a box of 50 labeled for LE. I use the Short Barrel version, though. ATK is CCI & Speer, among others. That's a great price for bonded JHP bullets... Gold Dots.

I recently bought 600 of the GDSB and had some already. I AM looking for .40 and 9mm FMJ. I have SD ammo.

Thanks for the post! Somebody must need some of these. That's premium SD ammo, but too high for my range use.

This could be from a government agency... state or federal... overrun or any number of reasons. It's probably regular GD's. The address on the box IS Speer's headquarters:

Mailing Address
Speer Ammo
2299 Snake River Avenue
Lewiston, ID 83501
1-800-256-8685

It uses all of the Speer components and is made by Speer, so what's the beef??

I think these would be great for home defense. There should be no reason to doubt the fact. Use then with confidence.

SWEET! just got an email back from them.

"Yes, this ammo is direct from ATK/Federal Speer ammunition.
Regards,
McKay Enterprises LLC
2535 Pilot Knob Road, Suite 117
Mendota Heights, MN 55120"

So its legit. Would buying this in bulk and selling it locally for a buck a round be frowned upon in the community? Poor grad student here :P
