Hello,

I aquired a new PM9 in DLC with the newer beveled nose and upon disassembly, have noticed that the firing pin block is getting stuck when hand cycling the slide.
Took it apart, cleaned the slide, plunger, spring etc..... still having a "sticking" problem when the plunger gets depressed... it simply won't return to the upward position to block the firing pin.

The person I got it from stated that there is barely 200 rounds down the pipe.... could this be a break in issue? or could this be a parts-fitment issue?

should I polish and attempt to deburr the plunger and /or the slide where it rides?

any and all info appreciated!

Thanks

Maybe the previous owner took it apart and lost the tiny spring that goes under the safety block, or put it back together incorrectly. You need to strip the slide down and see if there's something wrong. This pistol's safety is compromised!

There's a notch on the outside of the safety block and the extractor "train"... pins and spring goes through that with the safety block in place. They also hold the safety block in place, so you'll have to remove at least the spring and rear pin to get that out. You can tape the extractor in place, otherwise it falls free without the spring pressure on the front pin.

If the striker moves forward while the block is depressed, the block will not reset until the striker is moved rearward again.
Will the block reset if you move the striker rearward?

Not without tapping on it. The spring is there. Maybe a burr on the safety or slide?

gotta be an invisible burr holding it up a tad. U suggested polishin that striker block. U certainly will not hurt that buy polishig it akd I would even polish the cut out that the striker block goes into, that little spring is very little so be care ful u do't loose it in the process. I would also polish that striker where it comes into contact witht he striker block. sumpin very small is holding it back and u might just correct it by a good polishing in that area.

Last resort would be to email kahr , attn Jay, state ur case. possably u cold just send the slide in to them even,:Amflag2:

at this stage , ur kahr is not a safe gun.

Yeah, I'm aware that its not safe, which is why it's sitting at my house unloaded and in pieces until I can figure this darn thing out.

I think i have located a small burr on the slide located where the upper part of the plunger slides, it looks to be on the corner creating clearance issues.......
