Greetings
My name is Dave, and I am an new Kahr Owner.
I went to a local shop last weekend to look for a new carry pistol. My 25 year old Star BM has gotten too darn heavy.
Don't stone me, but I went to look at a Taurus 709 slim. After I got there, the salesman gently steered me to a Kahr CW-9. The trigger is much better, and he said it was a much nicer and better quality firearm.
Well, long story short, it followed me home and tomorrow I'm going to the range to run some break in rounds through it.:D
My hat off to you all, I have completed the excellent clean and lube tutorial, and really enjoyed looking around the forum this past week.

Whats wrong with the Taurus? I have a 24/7 Pro in 40 and love it. My wife is torn between that and a CW 40. Both have been exceptional pistols, in fact I have trouble making my mind as to which I want on me half the time.

Nothing wrong with a good Taurus. They have truely come a long long way in the last 20 years or so. They used to be one of those if you get a good one you got a good one but there were alot of bad ones. I think now days that is no longer true. Whatever floats your boat ya know? I still think the Kahr is on a higher plain, especially the steel framed ones but it's all good.

I have a Taurus Model 66 in .357 that has been running flawlessly for 25 years.
I didn't go with the Taurus this time because the 709 trigger doesn't fire until you are at the extreme end of the travel, and my trigger finger was running into my left hand. Rather than change my grip, I got a firearm that fit my shooting grip/ style.
Just got back from the range with the CW9. 200 rounds of assorted 9 mm. No FTE, No FTF, it ran flawlessly. Quite managable, and accurate enough for it's purpose. A few thousand more rounds and I bet it will be fabulous:D

I have wanted a Taurus 651 the CIA with the shrouded hammer, it would need new set of grips, and some other minor things but I have always wanted a snubbie 357 with the shrouded hammer. The Smith's are soooo hard to find and a lot higher in price.

We have several Taurus and Smiths around the dept. The 38's are considerably cheaper at least in the Smiths. The 357's are a beast in terms of recoil, muzzle blast on and on. Not alot of weight in the titanium and super ultra lite models. Many have switched to the Taurus small auto or of course Kahrs. PM9 being a favorite.

I like my cannons, that and I'm trying to get the number of different calibers down. I figure that among other things if I wanted to I could shoot 38's out of that. Kinda wish Kahr made a round gun too...
