Looking to purchase good cleaning and lube products. The kit i got when i purchased the pistol is horrible.

I found this commendation in the "proper Prep" thread.

Just about any brand will work just fine.
Get
solvent
oil
rod
brush in the correct caliber
patches
old toothbrush
rags
spray cleaner can be handy ( non chlorinated break cleaner will work)
compressed air can be handy
don't over think this. Go to youtube, type in the search box, and watch.

I have tried about everything out there and Eezox is my favorite CLP.

I use CLP for cleaning (also lubricates...) then I wipe down and apply TW25b to the primary lube points.

When I get home from the range I just lock the slide open and throw my CM9 in the dish washer. Nothing works better than Cascade for a gun so clean that you can eat off it. To avoid water spots a little Finish works wonders. Since I'm already in the kitchen, for lube I've found extra virgin olive oil to be the best, though I have to admit it's awful hard to find a virgin around here anymore, let alone an extra one. :)

What kit did you get?
IMO all you need is...
Rod
Patches
Bore brush
Jag
Old toothbrush
CLP

GunScrubber is good for the striker channel.

IMO... ditch the Otis kit and Hoppes oil for this (http://www.amazon.com/Kleenbore-Gun-Care-Classic-Handgun/dp/B0000C527B/ref=sr_1_17?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1363742067&sr=1-17&keywords=Gun+Cleaning+Kits).
The Otis is nice, but overrated and priced IMO....work great for rifles though.
Besides...those patches don’t work well with the Otis kit and you’ll need more Otis patches soon.
Pick up extra jags and brushes based on the calibers you have.

Break Free CLP to clean, Wilson Combat lube. I can't say enough good about Wilson's line of lube products. If its sub 20 degrees out I use Remoil

No, you don't need to worry about lubes and temperatures, I'm OCD

No sure what caliber but for 9 mm pistol cleaning I recommend this
Kleen bore kit from Midway:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/161631/kleen-bore-pistol-cleaning-kit-38-357-9mm-luger-caliber

plus a cleaner-oil: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/840573/break-free-clp-bore-cleaning-solvent-lubricant-rust-preventative-4-oz-liquid

and a grease: http://www.midwayusa.com/find?sortby=1&itemsperpage=84&newcategorydimensionid=4086

and patches - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/482576/butchs-triple-twill-cleaning-patches-35-to-45-caliber-square-twill-cotton-package-of-500

The reason to go with the Kleen Bore kit is it is a good quality kit and additional replacement or expansion brushes, tips and such will be available in future. The are several thread pitches available for rods and this is a common one.

You will also need qtips, paper towels and a dedicated bench towel or mat.

Break Free CLP used liberally with a nylon brush to clean. A good bronze bore brush followed by patches. Wipe down thoroughly and apply tw25-b or other gun grease to the rails. Many people don't agree that grease is necessary on the rails but Sig includes a small packet of the stuff with their guns for some reason.

Don't know that it's necessary but I grease my rails with the TW25 too. I did go for many years with just oil and never had an issue but in my only slightly wiser years grease makes good sense to me.

nice thing with tht TW25 grase other than it is a super lubricant made for firearms is tha tif u order it in the syringe applicator, u can lay a nice thin line of tw25 right down inside the slide rails and never make a mess I alsop on the polymer guns run a line of tw25 down the rais in the front dust cover of the frame also. Doesn't take much greaseif u make just a pin size holein the applicator to. thjere are other great lube points onecan use that syringe applicator for to. Just sayin..
