Today I took my new CM9 to the range to begin its 200 round break in. After the 3rd round the slide locked up (not utilizing the slide lock lever). I removed the mag and could not get it to release. The rounds in the mag were not the problem as the slide never went forward enough to chamber a round. I was shooting Federal 124 grain fmj. I got the gun home and fiddled with it some more and finally got it closed. It nows seems to function but I have not fired any more rounds. Has this happened to anyone or does someone have an explanation. I have several pistols (not Kahrs) and have never had this happen.

I did the things suggested by wyntrout's posting. the lube the cleaning prepping and read the manual several times. I will go to the range again tomorrow and see what happens. Maybe I was not holding on tight enough but I have a Beretta nano and I don't believe limp wresting was the cause.

Limpwristing will not cause your slide to lock open, and stay locked open with the magazine removed...

What did you do exactly to get the slide to close? That might help us help you diagnose what happened.

Dropping the magazine I pulled the slide back and forth as far as it would go, a half inch at best, while keeping the trigger pulled back as far as it would go and it finally released. I then racked the slide and dry fired several times so it was cocking the pistol. I then locked it back using the slide stop several times and released the slide using the slide stop. Again it was cocking the pistol each time.

2nd day at the range. 54 rounds down range without a hitch. I guess whatever was bothering the slide is no more. We shall see.

hopefully after all the proper steps were followed during prep for breakin, now after a few more rds through it you should be fine.
fire away & enjoy the ride congrats on the new gun. :D
