I just baught a pm 4544 I love shoooting it a real tack driver , I ran 300 rounds of factory ammo though it and it hung up a couple times so broke it down to clean it and noticed that the lower recever slid tabs in the front were chewed up pretty bad and I called Kahr about it . So I am sending it back . I have never delt with Kahr but I love this gun ,I hope they replace it , what I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem with their pm45, I am used to carying a Kimber ultra 11 but the PM45 feels alot better to carry in the summer ( weight & size ) thanks

Go the the PM sub forum, this has come up before, along with a few other issues. No worries, Kahr will take good care of you, they will make it right. Might have to exercise a little patience and use Ian @ Kahr as a contact. Welcome to the forum, keep us posted on your situation. Lots of good info and guys willing to share their experiences. It's all good.
If you are referring to what seems to be a nick or chip out of the metal rail on the left side of the gun, that is normal. I read that on Kahr's FAQ's. My PM9 has the same thing.
The upper (polymer) rails can get chewed up by putting the slide on at an angle. Again, no big deal, the upper rails are not rails but guides allowing people like me () to get the slide on without difficulty.

u are dead right on both comments. Improper putting the slide back on will chew up the front of the polymer "guide" rails. That is all they are there for, just to help guide the slide on the gun. Not sure if this is what the fella is talking about but I think it is. If it was mine, I would just smooth those end rails down with some fine sand paper abnd forget about it. as it absilutley hurt nadda, nothing, and I seriously doubt if kahr will replace that also, for it amounts to having to reregister that gun as it will come with a different serial number and it will hav eto go through a ffl dealer again.

Just a note. If you have your FFL send it back to Kahr (he can use the USPO cheap) they MAY replace the gun. I recently sent back a Beretta thru my FFL for what we thought was a quick fix, and Beretta replaced the gun with a new one, and sent it back to my FFL. I can't say Kahr would do the same, but ya never know.
