Hey all, I was directed to your site because I have been having some issues with my CW40. I've had it for about two years, but started having firing issues. When I put in a loaded mag, hit the slide release to load the first round into battery, all runs fine. But when I start firing, I'll get a weird problem. The trigger seems to no longer engage. A loaded round, a firing pin set back and ready, but no action between the trigger and trigger cam. I took a video and posted it on youtube, and then linked it to Kahr's facebook page and was quickly banned. I did get a hold of Kahr tech support, and they offered to fix it for free. But when I have the time, I don't have the money for shipping. And when I have the money for shipping, well, you know.

Here's the video below. Is this something that in time will wear in, being that I have only fired about 200 rounds through it? Or is this something that will be persistent until it gets looked at by a gunsmith?

I am no gunsmith by any means, or I'd fix it myself. I love this pistol. I just can't trust it with my life if I have to carry it.

Did you clean and lube it

I lubed it all up before I ever fired it, and have cleaned it every time I got finished firing it. I took it to the gun shop to see if I missed anything, and he asked me a few times whether I fired it or not! I have cleaned it and lubed it about once a month even though I haven't fired it in at least six months.

No, it's not a dirt issue. I wish it was because that would be an easy fix.

It could be a trigger reset problem caused by you not releasing the trigger to go fully forward after firing a round. If the trigger isn't released it will not reset and cause the problem you are having. Now, it could be a mechanical problem with the trigger bar causing the same thing.

You may be right. I noticed Kahr's trigger design is quite a bit different than other pistols I have fired. I like that it's simple. But then again I'm not one to hold the trigger down after firing...
