The kind of trouble I don't need any help getting into. :D

Several years ago my brother talked me out of my carry piece of the day, a KelTec P11. Not bad to conceal, but not the best. To replace it I looked and looked, I ended up with a slightly used, but well cared for and slightly enhanced Kahr P9. Love it! Has been a somewhat constant companion since.
I recently got an itch to look into a compact 45. I was looking at the Glock 36 and the XDs. I loke them, single stack, officers ACP size, usually very reliable. In the last 6 months or so thay have gotten hard to find and rather pricey. Thought I would have to try to wait it out. Then on a recent trip to the toy store with a friend, I noticed a CW45. It piqued my interest. Basically the same size and capacity as the G36 and the XDs, but actually less money and available. So I scoured the site and read up on anything concerning the CW45.

Last week the wife gave the go ahead and it came home with me. I've only got one box through it so far, but all trouble free. I have already gotten a couple of officers magazines and modified them for use in it. They work great and fit like they were made for it. Only problem I have noticed is that I did have to grind in the notch in the front of the slide. Wasn't real beat up yet, but I could tell it had made contact.

So I blame all of you for getting me into this, and thank you at the same time.

So sorry for causing you such a hugh problem! Welcome to the forum where this is a regular occurrence. Besides they aren't ugly like that Glock you were eyeballing....

I'm not ashamed to admit that I had to get a beach towel to dry my eyes, I cried like a baby. That's the sweetest story I've read since, well at least last week.

I'm glad you found the CW45 appealing and it's working well for you. The notch isn't a big deal and you handled that just right.

As an aside note regarding availability. I rarely go to stores except gun shops of course but I went with my wife to find a 6ft fluorescent light bulb, we won't go into that.

Anyhow we went to department store that recently started carrying guns again after 20 years of not doing so.

Of course I have to check that out. Every gun in the display case except 1 revolver and one little auto, can't remember what it was was a Kahr. Granted the display area isn't huge and only 20 pistols at best ever but there were 2 CW45's, several CW9's, a couple CM9's (first I'd seen in person) and as I recall even a 380. We usually don't see Kahrs but beginning to see more and more at gun shows etc.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

My eyes are dried now. Back to work.

Welcome.

Welcome aboard, Bull. That's good that you found the info to "fix" your pistol. Sometimes those "finishing touchs" are omitted for some reason... the notch and the stripper bevel. And the 1911 magazine modifications can allow you a flush mag and more capacity.

That sounds like a lot of Bull to me. Welcome aboard Bull shooter. Ya picked the right caliber for a carry gun regardless of what Jocko says. Shoot it like you stole it. (Where have I heard that before?)

You've got to enjoy pain and suffering to belong to this forum. It's already cost me the price of a P380 and CW9, and if the misery persists, I see another Kahr on the horison:D:D
