I may be premature, because I haven't shot it yet ... but I'm still pretty proud of my purchase.
I was ready to swear off .40 cal and even had my T40 up for sale. Than I had an epiphany and found out my grip was all screwed up. I switched to a "thumbs forward" grip and all my shooting got better and I found the .40 plenty easy to control.
So .... I rewarded myself by purchasing this little gem. I'm a sucker for polished steel. I already own a "Black Rose" PM9 and an MK9. But this just lights my fuse! It has the old style rubber grips. I was going to look into wood grips, but for now, I can't believe how nice these grips feel.
Anyway ... I hope you enjoy the pics. Full mirror polish.

Here's how it would look with wood grips.

I was comparing it to the T40 last night. I may go for the wood as the wood seems to fit my hand and grip length a little better.
That's a great lookin 'Covert' you got there JF.
dam that's sweet, i like the all metal gun nice and shinny , i want one. i bought a Taurus pt92 stainless i love it never thought it would shoot so smooth. and its pretty shinny. that is the best of both worlds a great gun . congratulation

That's not my Covert. Just a pic off the Web. Sure is pretty, though, isn't it? :D

Congratulations--looks like you got the Trijicons, too, which I love. Yes, there's no need to bypass 40SW--it's a pretty good cartridge IMO, and in the K40, it's an excellent match for the handful of steel. I actually swap the rubber and wood grips out from time to time--because I used a dye on my wooden ones that I have had a serious reaction to--and it's hard for me to say I prefer one over the other. That wooden ones feel a little fatter, which I why I bought them, but the rubber ones provide a more positive grip (duh).
While I'm not a fan of polish, I AM a fan of the K40. I think you did good and made a good buy. It's the smallest carry I believe I'll ever own and use, but I feel it's not too small a gun and 40SW is not too small a round. It feels like you have a real gun in your hand, and it shoots that way, too. I've become quite the K40 advocate.
Looks like a regular grip length to me, though.

Zowie!
Them shiney ones look like they could be used as automobile hood ornaments! great pics thanks.
Tried a 40 in a BHP/P35 just lately; I was expecting more snap. Seems less snappy than the 9? New love? :p
Anyway, got me to thinkin of trying a K40. I'm thinkin the weight to caliber ratio might be a comfortable blend there also. My recent K9 is like firing a 22, just a bit more expensive. :+)
Stay well,

Nice pistol FLBri. IMO yours with the black grips looks better than the woodie pic. I favor matte finish with the wood grips but that polish job looks great next to black. Enjoy!

Man, that mirror polish makes me want to continue what I started on my CM9 but it requires a lot of commitment and time.

I'm not sure it's worth the extra time to be honest, unless it's just a 'showcase' gun. I prefer to take it down a notch using a little gun oil and a gray scotch bright pad. This keeps it to a 'mirror' polish at first glance ... but looking closer it has a very very faint brush finish to it. This is SOOO easy to maintain and keep out surface scratches, this way.
Eventually I'll do that treatment to this one, also. It won't look any different in pictures.
