I was back on the manufacturing line at work today and overheard one of the assembly line workers telling his buddy he was going to the pawn shop after work to trade his gun so I perked up and asked him what he was selling. Turned out that he had a 6 month old HI-POINT Carbine and a .32 revolver he was selling. The pawn shop said they would give him $150 on the Carbine so I told him I would give him $175 if it was the new style. We went out to his car on break and it was in perfect shape, had a sling, Forearm, $15 soft shell case, and 2 boxes of WWB .45 caliber. I ended up giving him $190 for the whole package.
I shot 100 rounds through it in the backyard tonight and it ran fine as fast as you could pull the trigger. At 30 yards you can cut the center of a bullseye out. Haven't decided if I am going to flip it at the next gun show or hang on to it. It was kind of fun to shoot.

I've had mine for near 2 years now with 1000 ish rounds through her w/o one malfunction. It's become my go to HD gun and everyone who shoots it loves it. You can't beat it for the money... well pre-insanity money anyway. I got mine for round $250 nib. At 50 yds w/ a $30 red dot it don't miss and .45acp packs a heck of a punch. It's a little ugly but for $300 I can deal w/it. It's really not as ugly as it was when I first got it, Every time it goes bang w/o any type of failure it get better looking and when plinking it usually on see the cheap stuff and doesn't mind a bit.

Nice find and price - good time to flip at a gunshow while the demand is up.

Glad to hear you like yours so much. I have to say I don't think it looks to bad for how well it shot. I was seriously considering flipping it this weekend at a gun show but now......... i am not sure. Once word got out it was for sale I had two guys standing behind me in case I didn't buy it. My buddy has two 14 round mags for his that he said work great so maybe I will just buy some higher cap mags and keep it since it isn't registered. Oh what to do......?
You all should either help talk me into keeping it or selling it....... What do you think?

Where do you put the bullets in that thing. Must have like a magazine that isn't in the picture?
Is it a Hi Point mag or somebody elses?
Seems like I seen one before but didn't pick it up. Don't know a thing about em but if it's 45, it can't be totally bad, right.

Keep it!! I've had mine for almost two years and have never had one problem. It replaced a 9mm carbine that was stolen. I zeroed my red dot at fifty yards, and although I'm not a long gun shooter, a three inch group is easy at that distance.
And Bawanna, the mag is in the grip, just like your 1911 only it holds more rounds.

Those were "listed" for $450 or more at the gun show last weekend. If you need something like that, keep it. The only semi-auto rifle I have is the 10/22 I got about 14 months ago. I can't handle the crazy prices AND run down ammo and mags for a new caliber now. I'm thinking about some kind of .40 carbine that uses Glock mags. I loaded up on those when I got the 2 new Glocks last month.

Looks like a good deal to me. Congrats. If you have a need for that type of carbine I'd keep it. If not I'd flip it in a heartbeat and buy something you really want. Either way it's a win.

If you choose to flip it, I'll give you $200 for it.

Looks sweet.
I seriously considered getting the Heckler and Koch 45 ACP carbine.
but I think the civilian versions only take a 10 round mag?
Seems like that kind of defeats the purpose.

A new local gun range has reactive targets and will let me shoot .223 from my AK74U pistol with 30 round waffle mags.
So I'm taking tomorrow off and going to open fire.
Never shot reactive targets before.
Should be fun.
Enjoy your new carbine.

Keep it. Buy the cheapest, steel cased, dirtiest ammo you can find and have fun. If it breaks the extractor or anything for that matter, send it back and enjoy one of the best warranties in the firearms world. They'll even ship it back with a couple of magazines for your trouble. I'd be leery of the promag 14 round magazines. From my reading and experience with my own, it's only about 1 out of 5 that will feed right. I have the 9mm, but promag in general is a no no. I can honestly say I enjoy mine as much or more as my guns that are much more expensive. I rarely clean it, throw it around (although I'm sure I take better care of it than some do anything), and it always asks for more.

Are there any good hi cap mags available for these ? 10 rounds seems a bit limited, to me.

It is limited, no doubt. I've bought one promag 15 round mag (9mm) that fed ok after I tweaked the feeds lips, and I've had a few more that wouldn't feed no matter what. Another downside for me personally is the magazine sticks out from the grip another 4 inches or so. Just to avoid a headache, I'd stock up on 10 round mags, maybe even get the dual mag holder hipoint sells that goes on the stock. At least with that you'd have 30 rounds. That being said, some hipoint magazines come with the feed lips a little too closed in, but I've never had one of their factory magazines not feed after I've adjusted them

Well if you flip it I'll go 210!. I don't have no tupperware rifles and you know how important it is for me to fit in with the bunch.
If JohnR comes back my super secret high bid is 250 but don't tell him that, I don't want him to undercut me ya know.

Great price on that gun. I think it would be fun to shoot. I've been looking at a .45 carbine as well, but it's not cheap. Check this one out. http://www.kriss-usa.com/products/carbines/vector-crb-45-acp

Hell, I think I spent about that much on .223 and 45 ACP frangible ammo,
gun rental (HK45) and range time with reactive targets this morning???
