I am looking at an OWB Foxx Leather/Kydex hybrid holster. The question for you people that have a hybrid holster is, do you end up with wear and or marks on the slide, or trigger guard, of your gun from the kydex? I have a Kahr CM9 with a stainless slide.
Thanks for the help !

All holsters cause wear. I do think my kidex can cause a bit more but it depends. If you get dirt & debris in a leather holster it can scratch your gun. You can simply wipe out a Leather holster. If you are worried that much about holster wear, perhaps you should not carry that particular gun? It is a tool to protect your life after all.

I'm a leather guy myself. Any gun that I love usually but not always rides in leather.
I'd look at Garrett's Silent Thunder and other variation. Leather lined kydex so you get the best of both worlds. Leather to protect your gun and tupperware to make the outside basically bomb proof.
I agree a gun is a tool but I also subscribe to the looking cool is job 1 theory so I keep them looking good as I can.
I may die poor but I'll die looking cool.

I like leather too but I guess I just usually go with whichever holster performs better. I have both. Just depends on my dress for the day & the planned activities as to which I wear. The Silent Thunders do look very nice. I personally like Milt Sparks for IWB and either Ritchie or Rosen for OWB. TT makes some nice leather rigs also. For Kydex, I only use them OWB & I like Raven Concealment & X-Concealment. I also like the hybrid leather & kydex rigs like CBST for IWB. I use one of those with my G26 quite often & it is super comfy. Hope this helps you out some. Good luck, I have spent a lot of time and money looking for the right holsters for me & yes, I have the proverbial drawer of holsters! :biggrin1:

The stainless steel is ver hard and there is no finish to wear off, so don't worry about the kydex.
The best holster I have found for forget-it-is-there comfort 24/7 with my CM9 is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. I normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

Are those PJ holsters really comfortable IWB? I would think kydex would not feel good next to your skin.

Many people have posted that the kydex against the skin is comfortable, more wo than leather. I wear mine IWB, but not tuckable. If I wear my tuckable one, I still have underwear between me and it. But let me tell you again, it is so comfortable that YOU CANNOT FEEL IT THERE, sitting standing or moving around! I have to reach back there and touch my CM9 to confirm it is there!
