Glock3540

Hi All,
My first post.
I have carried a Glock 27 daily for well over 10 years and own many other pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns.
I'm looking into purchasing my first Kahr, a PM9.
I have done quite a bit of research and I think the PM9 is one of the
best combinations of power to weight and minimal recoil weapons that I have found.
I have a local gun dealer, that I deal with, who quoted me $749.00
for the pistol. I also inquired about the Crimson Trace laser that
is made specifically for the PM9 and he said $259.00 for the laser.
I also asked him if I could have XS Big Dot tritium's installed at the
factory instead of the "other" tritium sights. He said "No, We do not buy directly from the factory but through a third party" or something like that...
The reason I asked this question is; I believe I read recently that it cost $40.00? to send the slide back to the factory to let them install sights.
It seems like a waste of money to have them install sights, sell the weapon to me, me ship the slide back to them with my XS sights , they then uninstall the factory sights, install my new sights and ship it back to me...
Then I need a holster.., Thinking of a Alessi ankle rig or maybe a Stellar Pocket holster. Another $100 to $150.
Appx total; $749+$259 +(tax on these 2 = $69.31) +$128.00 (sights),
+ $150 (holster)= appx $1355.00.
If I spend 1300+ dollars on a sub compact back up pistol, It Better Not Have Nickel Plating Flaking Off ANYWHERE on it. My Glocks, Rugers, HK's, Sigs have never had any flaking issues of any kind.
Are the flaking issues isolated or are they widespread? If the newest issue pistols still have issues and I send it in for a warranty replacement,
how do I know the replacement will not have issues also? My question is; How do I know the replacement barrel will be any different than the barrel the pistol originally has? Are they just picking another barrel off the assembly line and hoping it will not have issues also, or was there just a bad "batch" and now all barrels are A-OK?
Not trying to sound complaining at all. From what I have read, the Kahrs are very high quality firearms. It is just this plating issue is something I may expect to happen to a $150.00 pocket pistol.
Thanks In Advance for any responses.
Blessings,
Brian
