That's no dumber than the large body of people out there who know NOTHING about guns, magazines, or bullets... just what the gun haters and supportive media and dumber politicians tell them... like "assault weapons" and military "styled" weapons... when they are talking about cosmetic look-alike features that don't make machine guns out of semi-automatic rifles, which is what real military assault rifles are... selective fire capable... for the battlefield! Too many times the media have shown video clips of machine guns firing full auto when talking about civilian-owned "assault weapons"! So the distinction is blurred and ignorant people... a lot of politicians, too... want to ban these terrible "assault weapons"... which really aren't AW at all!

After the last national AWB, that lasted a decade,
proved without a shadow of a doubt that gun control does not work.
I simply can't understand how this whole movement can get traction.

Doing something that clearly will not work.
And infringes the rights and freedom of 300 million people.
Would seem to be something that transcends party lines.

Dealing with the mentally ill.
Building more prisons.
Implementing stronger, longer, mandatory sentencing,
along with elimination early release, for violent criminals.
Should be spotlight items rather than afterthoughts.

Common sense has to prevail at some point - right?

+1. I've been waiting an awfully long time. I think common sense has been outlawed. Not doubt attached to Ovomitcare in the fine print.

For most cases, in politics especially, "common sense" is an oxymoron!

I sure wish I could hear the responses to her statement. Were there knowing nods by the other panelists? Did they jump to correct her? Were there multiple face-palms?

we are a nation of idiots. the left divided us between liberatarian and conservative, then duped the morons on the fence, then rallied their multiple voting regulars...

elections have consequences.

During the same conference Dem. Rep. DeGette also said this...

And of coarse this,"things that go up" by Dem. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy

And not to be out done, how about Dem. Rep. Hank Johnson

I sent Ms. DeGette an email explaining the difference between bullets and magazines in terms that she could understand. I told her that a magazine was like a purse and that bullets were like money. After all the money (bullets) are expended the purse (magazine) could be refilled (reloaded). She wrote me back and told me that she uses credit cards. At that point I didn't know what to say. :)

Watch out. She'll be running for a national position soon. Anyone like that that uses a credit card and thinks that way could help the other idiots in Washington run up our national debt.

Neither did I. And, already marginal, she just committed local political suicide. :)

They don't need to know anything about an issue to criticize it. It just has to be "scary looking" to their target voting block...

There is nothing more evil than a democRAT, well maybe those who say their 2nd Amendment supporters and THEN VOTE DEMONCRAT.

You should have known. No democRAT pays with money, they BORROW IT. And then someone else pays for it later.

Here are some more... and I'm surprised that there are no (R)'s on the list with all of the "Moderate" and RINO's:

And that, my friend, is what they call "acting" like a knowledgeable authority!
Sadly, the low information people believe it and out number us....
