Indiana lawmakers are pushing to make their state the first in the nation
to require every school to have an armed employee on site,
a proposal that aligns with recent recommendations from a National Rifle Association study.

IMHO - We as a nation desperately need real solutions like this one.

Agreed. Where I live aremed officers are already in the schools. Armed staff would only reinforce their presence.

We have had police officers at our schools for a long time. I was surprised others didn't. They take 1 week turns at it. They have told me they enjoy the kids and the kids are real high on them. Community thing as well as guarding. I hope more places will do it. The laws the Commiecrats are passing won't help a thing except their image with clueless people. I am all for trained, armed staff also. We are fortunate to have an excellent police force.

Every school in the nation should have a duly sworn uniformed armed officer assigned to it. It's a known fact that these nut jobs shooting up schools aren't looking for a fight, so the mere presence of an armed officer would deter the majority of them. I also don't have an issue with properly trained staff members being armed, but I think they should be in addition to an officer not in substition of.
