Fitting a GI 1911 slide for night sights?

Anyone know approximately what it would cost to have a GI style 1911 slide fitted for aftermarket sights with Novak style dovetail cuts or the like?

Wow, that sucks for your friend. jlottmc, a GI style 1911 doesn't have dovetails for aftermarket sights. They'd have to be cut/milled. Actually, I was thinking about checking how much an extra slide already cut for aftermarket sights would cost. It's a Rock Island, so it shouldn't be too much and I know they make them...

There are aftermarket stake on sights for 1911s that should cover your needs for the front site. Look around at Brownells and you will find some options. Might save you money versus having the slide cut.
