Wow just Wow.

Stopped at lgs yesterday and they were asking $120.00 for a brick of 22 long rifle. That seems like at least ten times what it should be.

That country western song (you know the ones you play backwards to have a happy ending) "Just Walk on by" comes to mind. I do much prefer country music, course being near deaf it's all rock and roll to me now days.

I firmly believe all scalpers will pay come judgement day. Course it is capitalism and if your into money, nobody can hold it against them.

Nobody's holding a gun to anyone's head making them pay stupid prices.

Nah, only about six times what I usually pay for bulk ammo (550 rounds). :59:

Look, shiny! Got an email from my local reloading shop at 1600 that they had lead bullets in. Jumped in the car and was up there by 1604 (only 0.9 mile from my front door and had to wait on traffic to pull out!). Purchased 500 125 grain 9mm and 500 230 grain 45 ACP. Back at the house by 1620!!!!:amflag:

yep.... I see shiny too ..... made a little phone call Monday that was returned Wednesday, and got in an order for 1k swc's for the .357 mag, and paid no more than last year's price..... delivery to my mailbox next Monday!

Who woulda thunk it .... now you can reload most centerfire rounds as cheap or cheaper than you can buy .22 rimfire.

Even though I've got a few thousand 22 lrs, been shooting my centerfires more. Just hope that this 22 drought ends soon.

I found a brick of Remington Golden Bullets for $25 earlier this week. Those are the only rounds my AA conversion kit likes.

you're talking about the Rem Golden Bullets in the standard 500-550 bulk box like they (used to) sell at wally-world? Those were the ones most of my bunch absolutely swore off of about 5 years ago, particularly for use in any semi-auto. We were finding no less than 5-6% of the bullets were seated about 5° out of plumb .... some so bad you could hardly force them into a loose revolver cylinder, much less them to reliably feed in a semi.

Got 2 boxes of 525 round federal for only $22 each at bass pro about 3 weeks ago.

I haven't even seen a brick for a long time at any price.

I think the reason the government is hoarding ammo is to run up the price so the average person can no longer afford to buy ammo. They are hitting us in the pocket book.

Heard a substantiated rumor that one of our lgs has either bribed or at least made some kind of deal with the person who stocks at Wally World to notify when shipment comes in and they send several of their staff to buy as much as they can get their hands on. Plan on talking to mgr but doubt it goes anywhere.

Seems that most large box stores haven't raised prices too much. Problem is they can't keep the inventory. Now the Show and LGS that is a different story, for the most case.

That's true. Homeland Security is purchasing all the .22lr the mfgs can produce at a 20% over retail premium as part of their your tax dollars at work, multi-year, 563 billion "bullet" buy.

Yeah, those. Never had a problem with them.

I wouldn't doubt that a bit.

If that's their plan, it isn't working with me.

I can't get .22, so I've been shooting .44 mag. :Amflag2:

Good move, but there's a better one, .41 mag. We can't cover all the bases and that's a very, very effective round that's obscure enough today that we're not paying attention.

Those golden bullets must be solid gold at that price. If you buy em don't shoot em.

I don't think they're solid gold. I believe they're lead plated.

I did heard a scrap yard price for scrap lead today at 75 cents/lb. I'm guessing that by the time you smelt the crud off it and add alloy, by the time you get them cast the price per pill is getting on up there

Around here a LGS was selling .22 cal CCI for $4 per 50 rounds, 2 boxes max. Another LGS was selling a bag of .22s (250) for $11, one bag per customer. Then word on the street was there were a group of guys going into Walmart buying as much as wallyworld would allow and taking the ammo to gun shows and selling them for as much as they could get.....despicable, but I guess it's the American way. I've been looking on Gunbroker and can't believe the price some are asking for ammo, it's just ridiculous.

Walmart had a case of Remington Golden, in 225 packs, for $9.97 each. It sold out before noon.

Ammo will be plentiful ... right after the gun bills are signed. NO Bills; NO Ammo!
Many states looking to tax the the heck out of it as well to punish gun owners.....

I got a notice from the-armory.com last night saying that Aguila 124-gr 9mm FMJ was back in stock... only $719.99 a case... JUST 72¢ a round... a little of half what .22 LR SEEMS to be going for now! I'll pass... the last I got was around $220 delivered!

Those "notifications" finally got results.
