Hi, Skeezix! Welcome to the forum! We might be neighbors! We arrived in town here from San Antonio 16 years ago today. Wifey was last stationed at Brooks AFB and didn't want to stay there... kind of boring after seeing the Alamo and the Riverwalk a few times.

I shoot at the Gun Gallery on Beach Blvd... have a range membership there. I always wear my Kahr cap, though I ought to buy a Glock hat, too! I bought 3 in the last two months and sold a redundant P380 that Wifey couldn't rack.

I'll post my usual collection of helpful info and links for you.

Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by K a h r Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.

First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can view it and/or download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf

Please watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:

K series:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.

A very handy one is the Kahr Lubrication Diagram:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=14750
Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.

Another great resource for information on Kahrs... Archives of Magazine and Internet Reviews for Kahr pistols by industry experts. They test these pistols and report on their views and the ammo they tested in it. This is a good way to find ammo that might fit your needs along with accuracy and feeding in the pistol... usually from a rest with velocity and energy, as well as penetration and expansion sometimes... very informational.

Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?

One very important bit of advice: Hold the Kahr pistol firmly when firing OR CHAMBERING a round. These compact pistols need all of the force they can get from the slide to get a round into the chamber successfully. If you don't hold the pistol firmly, part of the needed momentum is transferred to MOVING THE PISTOL and the top round will DIVE and jam into the right side of the feed ramp. The weak hand, over hand rack method gives the best grip and a firm rack will give you the best chance at chambering a round.

Use the weak hand fingers over the slide(clear of the ejection port), thumb along the slide and pointing to the rear. Use the gun hand to simultaneously firmly push the gun as you give a vigorous rack with the weak hand and cleanly release the slide as it reaches the rear limit and is "snatched" from the weak hand. This approximates a real rack from firing and beats the slide release method WHEN executed properly. Much more strength can be exerted when this is done closer to the body.

Here's a video on that. The first part is what I'm talking about:

There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

Welcome to the forum, Skeezix! :) There is a wealth of valuable information in the New Member Area (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56) and the Kahr-Tech (http://kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27) sections of the forum.

And welcome to the CM9 Owners Club! :D Our official symbol is the wide grin smily because we are so happy with our purchase that we can't wipe the smiles off our faces!

Here is your club badge.

The best holster I have found for forget-it-is-there comfort 24/7 with my CM9 is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. I normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

Thanks all. I shoot out on the Westside at Gateway.
Also retired Air Force in 2000. Although my CM9 is
my usual carry, I really do like the CW45. I had a Glock
G36, but could not get used to it. Used to have a CW40,
but I decided to cut down on calibers to keep.

Come shoot IDPA the 1st Sat. Of the month at Gateway. May is a BUG match, the CW45 would be perfect.

How many mags do you need for that match.
I only have three. Plus what type of holster is
required.
Or I might just use my CZ 2075 RAMI.:D

Welcome.
I'm also in Jax.
Just grabbed a CW9 at Shooters for $339.

I shoot at Gateway mostly (I'm on the Westside), but may start going to Gun Gallery just because my friend Neil (the AR guy) is such a great guy. I'd like to find some more ammo before I go shooting up what I have though.

I shot there less than two weeks ago and they were still limiting range ammo purchase to one box per customer per day for use at the range. They hadn't raised the price on the Atlanta Arms & Ammo, Inc. reloaded ammo. It was still reasonably priced then... they hadn't raised the prices on that... under $20 for 9mm, .40, and .45 after tax. I've never had a problem with AAA ammo. I've been using that daily box to extend my supply and cutting back a bit on my ammo fired. I hope to use my .22 Glock conversion and Ruger .22 this Monday... and maybe my P40 with the new Big Dots. It shot lower than I like on the first test and I want to try it with a pistol rest this time.

Three is plenty for a bug match. The regular match for April, I only shot about 50-60 rounds total, the match directors know it's hard to get and are designing the stages for lower round counts.
