Hey guys, new to the forum.
Bought my first Kahr, a new K9.
Nice gun, but I do have a question.
The slide to frame fit is pretty sloppy?
Also, when I squeeze the trigger the back of the slide actually moves down, changing sight alignment? (About .003"-004")
I put about 70 rounds thru it and it shot without a hiccup.
Any advise on the rattley fit on these or is this normal?
Thanks

Sounds just like mine and my CW9. A little loose is good for reliability. The real test is how close the holes are together on the target.

The 2 K9's I have handled did have somewhat loose fitting slide to frame so most likely its normal. My mk9 has just slight play but my mk40 has almost none. Maybe different Kahr model guns have different tolerences. Are you sure your slide goes down and not up when you pull the trigger? As far as accuracy its all in the barrel lockup. I have read that loose slide to frame fit guns can still be accurate. By the way real nice K9.

Interesting that yours has the very desirable soft rubber Hogue grips. I just got a K9 a month ago or so and it also has the nice soft rubber grips. I thought it had been several years since they used them.
Gone to the harder plastic type grip.
I'll go feel mine a little bit and see what the slide to frame feels like.

On my CW9 and my PM9, the right rear of the slide moves UP slightly when pulling the trigger... but this only happens when the striker is NOT cocked... this is normal.
Rack the slide to cock the striker and try it again. This time you should see NO movement of the slide (and your sights) until after the strike. Therefore, this will not affect accuracy during actual shooting.
I'm picking up my used K9 in a day or two. I'll check how it works, but I have a feeling it will be similar.
P.S. your K9 is a beauty in that all black finish. Enjoy!

Mine is very tight, hardly any movement at all. It's a spitting image of yours. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

THAT DLC k9 IS AROUND 2009-2010 ERA, so evidently they were making um up to that date anyhow. IMO that dlc K9 with Rubber grips is the absolutele finest kahr on the market. I would 4 sure port the fokker to make it MINE I would also bet that dlc K9 has the elite trigger in it also.
It might be a new gun but it has been sitting some where for a few years. Acall to kahr will give the exact birth date and it wopuld be interesting to even know. I just do not feel this gun was made in the past few years, the serial number and expecially the grips give that thought away. No doubt kahr probably make sa large run of certain models and finsihs etc and then moves them out the door as demand calls for them.
I call that dlc K9 a TRUE b0ner GUN. Just sayin

Just tested mine and when it is cocked and you dry fire the slide does move as you described. Must be normal. I will say this , it does not affect the accuracy of the gun. If I do my part the K9 will put the rounds in one tight little group.

Guys,
Thanks so much for the input!
I really like this little pistol.
Fits the wife's hand so well.
If I did everything right, here is a link to a video on you tube:

Please tell me what you think.
Again, my question: is this excessive ???
The price for shipping etc. back to the factory has gotten so unreasonable.
Thanks!

u can get recoil springs for ur K9 from woffslgunsprigs.com,alot cheape rin price than at kahrt and fasterandthey make kahrs springs. buy in pak of 3 . U might while ur ordering considertheir drop in 5#striker spring aos. Makes asuper nice mod with ease.
I can also whle ur at it, even though the gun worked flawlessly, read the kahr tech section thread called: Propper prepping of ur kahr. some dandy dtips there. The kahr lube chart is excellent also.

Mine does the same thing exactly like you discerned too. I've never noticed until your thread. When mag is loaded this issue becomes hardly noticeable, and I've never had any accuracy issues. So IMO this is a non-issue. Shoot away and congrats on your new K9. They're are great pistol!

Spoke with "Jay" @ Kahr, very quick response!
He says this is normal. He watched the vid.
Good enough for me!

I just picked up a used K9 and checked out what you said about the sloppiness of the slide and it moving a little while shooting or dry firing, mine seems to be pretty tight on the frame and no sloppiness, and when firing the slide does not move at all. just thought I would kick in my findings.

My k40's slide is a little loose on the frame, perfectly normal.
