Damn! That reads on and on.... It's like one of those EULAs you have to agree to to upgrade some program or whatever, where you wonder if it will ever end... and you had put the cursor on the lower end of the scroll bar and held it down for blitzing to the end! Then you wonder what you agreed to and if you gave up some liberty or future children or something!!

Well, I skimmed it and, initial, looked acceptable to me. Printed out a copy to read in more detail a flight to DC tomorrow.

Don't need to read it. Gov is too big. We don't need more laws. We need fewer. To top it off, names of the 2 sponsors are 'nuff reason to oppose it with every fiber of my being. Should have been filibustered to death.
I suppose if you are OK continuing to sacrifice your freedom in the name of 'commons sense' legislation, then go for it.

The fine print leaves a lot of interpretation
ie the attorney general may , at their digression, RADICALLY change this without ANYONES approval!
This was written up to be a set-up!

yep, great ideas. Lets allow the federal government full unfettered access. once they allow reciprocity and cross state sales along with universal BG checks then its a federal issue under the commerce clause, out of the hands of the states. Wait and see!!! They will then do whatever they want.

If the government has no record of you owning a gun then how will they know if you sell it? Unless they force us to register our guns they won't know. Since criminals by definition are law breakers do you really think that the government will be able to prevent criminals from obtaining guns illegally. The government hasn't been able to stop 15 million illegal immigrants from entering the country. It hasn't been able to stop thousands of tons of illegal drugs from entering the country. I don't think that you've put enough thought into the governments proposed bill. Quite frankly I think that $100,000,000 of our tax dollars could be better spent considering the fact that nothing in the proposed bill would have done anything to prevent the recent mass shootings. You need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Good luck, hope you get out alive. I never been east of the big muddy but I heard it's a rough neighborhood.
Stay alert.

My real concern with the bill is how there often seems to be riders attached that screw the pooch.
As for NY I've never been there and have no interest in going.
Escaped Kalifornia and feel the same way about it.
Unfortunately I've got family in So. Cal.
So I may have to return for a brief visit someday.

Barth, did you happen to catch Fox & Friends this morning? Californians were gleefully signing a petition to repeal the second amendment. If I ever went to California it would be in a semi full of dynamite. :)

Then they followed up w/ happily agreeing to shut down the 1A as well. Good stuff. Great. Dumb old Constitution. Stupid Bill of Rights. Burn them all!
Morons! The lot of them! I'm convinced that anyone left of center has totally lost all their marbles. People hovering in the center, well, maybe I'll leave that one alone for the moment.

I think we're almost to a point where we need to start over.
We'll find us a few boats, name em Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria and sail around looking for a new place.
We'll be a little more careful this time screening folks that want to come in with us.
We'll protect the borders from day one. We'll interview everyone wanting in. If they lean the slightest bit to the left as they stand before us we don't let them in.
Anyone that slips through the cracks and gets in but starts acting up can be voted off and exiled.
Actually since I'm relatively certain based on shuttle flights and moon landings that the earth is not flat after all, and there really isn't any habitable unclaimed land on earth I reckon we'll have to skip the boats and just conquer us a piece. I'm thinking Texas up through the midwest. Arizona, New Mexico, up Missouri way, like to claim Wyoming and Montana, don't really want a border with Canada.
That way we got sea ports, a variety of climate, some good growing area.
We'll try to be self supporting, very little import, no export of anything to eat or otherwise to California, Illinois, NY, CT any of those high concentration of communist places.
Anyone over the age of 8 required to own firearms and minimum amounts of ammunition. No lawyers. Strictly judged by peers and I don't mean Moron.
Very few jails, active and working hangmans scaffolding and electric chairs, your choice.
Common sense prevails. Someone deserves shooting, ya just shoot em.
Oh crap, I woke up from a desk nap and here I am back in the land of ovomit.

Good ideas. Free ammo for residents. Ammo if any exported will be charged accordingly to cover that expense.
No, no shooting zones. If you have a proper and safe back stop as determined by a panel of peers, your good to go.
Common sense laws, very few lawmen. If your shooting at 11 at night bothering your neighbors your a nuisance.
If your burning leaves and the smoke goes in your neighbors house, your a nuisance.
If you shoot a punk in the process of stealing your kids bicycle off the front porch, too bad for him. No trial, no lawsuits. If the punk lives he pays for his own medical expenses and recovery prior to his execution or exile to outside.

We can call it the free Republic of Kahristan!
...or maybe more generically just Pistolia? I have friends that will go but they don't much care for Kahrs.
Should we let folks that ONLY have rifles in? Not sure about that one...tough call. If you only have rifles, you are weird...no question.

I veto this rifle thingy.
My my semi auto AKS-74U is technically a 10.5" barreled pistol.
And I don't think my no stock pistol grip Mossy 500 qualifies either...

My proposed rule/law was only for people that had ONLY rifles (i.e. no pistols).
You have pistols. You also have pistol-less barrels. While I have to acknowledge the latter to be a bit weird as well, you'd still qualify by having a pistol.

I don't think type of gun should be an issue. It's all type of brain, type of attitude, common sense or lack there of.
Be a good neighbor or get out.
Man with a rifle is a force to be reckoned with if their mind is right. We'll be needing them too.
