View Full Version : I have issues

I went to my local sporting goods store after work today just for ammo. Really I did. But it was on sale. And I just watched a review on YouTube the other day raving about how great it was. And I "need" a bolt action rifle, I mean how could I go on in life without one. Plus it would be a great gun for my son when he is old enough. And I only have just the one .22lr rifle, you need at least 2, right? NO. Just ammo. But they were out of ammo. Then I said it..."How much?" As if I couldn't read the big sale price tag on it. "Would you like to see it" he asked? (Say no, just say no and leave) "Yes" (I am weak!). Just give it back and go home I thought. But my brain and mouth were not in agreement. And so I bring you the latest addition to my collection: the Marlin XT-22R.

I have already ordered a Mueller AVP 4.5-14x 40mm scope for it.
And I was supposed to be banned from buying anymore guns this year after I bought my Colt AR-15 two weeks ago. I actually agreed to that thinking I could do it. Someone once told me its easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. The wife had to know I was too weak.
I told you I have issues.

We all have issues. We're not here to judge you or your lack of will power.
Your right on all counts. You do need 2.

Just thinking of your son...when he gets older...that just makes you a GREAT dad...right?!
PBJ,
There are worse things to do with your time and money. Developing in your kids the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be responsible gun owners, is not a bad thing.

What's all this talk of need? You wanted it and you got it. At times like this a man has to assert his mastery of his domain. Rash promises like not buying any new guns were made to be broken. However, I found it much easier to break such promises if you also purchase some small bauble for the "little woman". A diamond ring or new car comes to mind. By keeping to this practice the "little woman" has never objected to any of my purchases of "all those guns" as she is want to call them. Works every time it's tried.

Now wait just a dad burn minute here. Isn't this the same fella what brought home a shiny new CZ75 and ordered a bunch of cool accessories for it too?
I think we got a habitual buyer here on our hands. Might indeed need an intervention here.

It sounds like you are suggesting a 12-step program.
...and the first step should be to send his guns to you?

Well that hadn't occurred to me but it's a fine idea. I have had a strong hankering for a CZ 75 for quite a spell.
Yes I think it's a very fine suggestion. I'll PM him my address immediately.
Maybe I should just post it in general so if any others are having issues they can just send em in. I'll take special good care of them one and all.

Mighty kind of you, my friend. You are right neighborly.

I try to be neighborly when I can. Just the right thing to do ya know?
I'm particularly interested in anyone with a Taylor Schofield 3" or maybe 5" in 45 Colt that has issues. Very high on my want, I mean on my therapy needed list.

And a might fine gun it is.
Shot mine yesterday and noticed the Range Officer standing right behind me.
Asked him if I was shooting too fast.
His reply. "Nope, just wanted to let you know that you put 4 rounds through the same hole in less than 2 seconds"
Made me :amflag:

You got me there Bawanna. Since mid December I have added to my collection:
1) Polished stainless CZ 75B, cocobolo CZ grips, stainless mag plates and stainless grip screws
2) XDm bi-tone 4.5 9mm (for the mrs)
3) Colt LE6920, Magpul CRT stock and angled fore grip
4) Marlin XT-22, Mueller AVP scope and necessary rings and mounts.
I told you I have issues. I may not have the time to add anything else for a while. I will be too busy attending Guns Anonymous meetings and working on those 12 steps.
BTW... Anyone have any feedback on the Sig P226 MK25? My LGS has one in stock... :) lol

Well I think if we cut your issues in half you'll have better success at your meetings. Send me the CZ and the Colt. When I decide you got your mind right I'll send em right back.

I don't think I can part with the CZ or Colt, but I do have a Red Ryder BB gun I can let you borrow. Just be careful not to shoot you eye out Ralphie.
