Hello,

I've read that this is the best place for Kahr info. So far from browsing, it's quite the resource.

I chose the CW9 for carry. I'll be taking my reserve deputy training courses this year and wanted to have a civilian carry when not volunteering my time to my local agency.

I'm a big Sig Sauer guy so Kahrs are a whole new world to me. I just learned how to take down the pistol lol. Definitely different with striker fire.

I'm assuming based on the serial number thread that my CW9 is newer. I have the original box but it doesn't have the born date on there.

First two letters of the serial are "EG". Is there any way to determine born date without contacting Kahr?

I did find it surprising that Kahr is owned by a Korean company. I guess that ties to a lot of my history.

Well here she is:

With my Sig Sauer P226R .40 nightstand pistol. TLR-4 is attached to the rail.

Welcome to the Forum.

You have the plastic box and not the cardboard box so it is not too new. The CW9 is one of the nicest pistols Kahr makes in my opinion. You should have no problems. One suggestion is to clean and lube the gun well before the first range trip and all should go well.

Nice Sig by the way.

Thanks for the assist. I bought the pistol used and was the first person to call just as the FFL was cleared to sell the pistol after the 30 days cleared. Lucky me.

Got it out the door for $381. It's clean. Didn't notice any flaws, no holster wear, nothing.

I can tell that it was used after take down, but nothing major. Just powder residue. Didn't notice any nickle shavings from that series of barrels.

Need to find more mags and IWB holster and mag holster.

Any recommendations?
