Visualize General George Patton addressing everyone today, as outlined below......

This is how General George S. Patton would sum things up....
and then catch holy hell from Ike.

He sure had a unique way of expressing his thoughts.
ATTENTION!

To ALL those whining, panty-waisted, pathetic Citizens, it's time for a little refresher course on exactly why we Americans occasionally have to fight wars to keep this nation great.

See if you can tear yourself away from your "reality" TV and your Starbucks coffee, and just for a minute,
pull your head out of your ass -- and LISTEN UP!!

Abu Ghraib is neither "torture" or an "atrocity."
Got that ?

THIS IS an atrocity!

So Was This!!!8301

WHICH PART DON'T YOU GET?
Islam Extremists are peaceful people?
My Ass!
Millions of these warped, misled, sons-of-******* are plotting to destroy our lives and our countries as we speak.
Some of them are here among us now.
They don't want to convert you and they don't want to rule you. They believe you are a vile infestation of Allah's paradise. They don't give a **** how "progressive" you are, how peace-loving you are, or how much you sympathize with their cause.

They want your ass dead, and they think it is God's will for them to do it.

There are some numbskull do-gooders who think if we give these Islam extremists a hug or listen to them, then they'll like us, and if you agree -
Then you are a pathetic, numbskulled, do-gooding, dumb ass!
If they manage to get their hands on a nuke, chemical agents, or even some anthrax -- you will wish to God we had hunted them down and killed THEM while we had the chance.
How many more Americans must be beheaded?
You've fallen asleep AGAIN - get your head out of your ass!
You may never get another chance!

NOW GET OFF YOUR SORRY ASS and pass this on to any and every person you give a damn about - if you ever gave a damn about anything!
DISMISSED ! ! !

Nah,

Sadly, the day for any Patton is gone. There's so much political correctness in the armed services, its a wonder they can get their boots on in the morning, and a wonder they can wipe their own asses without getting permission first.

I did pretty well and enjoyed the Navy in the sixties and early seventies, but I would never survive the current "corporate" Navy. I was amazed how much things had changed watching "Jag" episodes in the nineties. Gibbs exists in NCIS, but that's just a TV show and doesn't reflect real life.

even though he was a bit (actually quite a bit) mentally deranged, Patton was at the right place, at the right time, historically speaking.

Don't know how true this is but imagine what he would do today.

Hate to say it but General Pershing never did that. Rumor has it another officer under his command did something somewhat similar but on a much lesser scale.

Today, any officer or enlisted would be court marshaled immediately and locked away for all time to appease our "enemies".

Pershing did "disobey" orders during the raid of Poncho Villa by going out on a supply run, killing some Mexicans and tying them to the hood of their trucks. He then drove around to show what he had done. He got somewhat of a reprimand but the press had found out and made him a hero.

Wait...the press made him a hero?!? As unbelievable as that sounds in this day and age, yep, it happened. Just ask Jocko, I believe he was Pershing's personal driver.

FWIW, I've met, listened to, shook hands with, ate with, Alan West on more than one occasion. His story is true, and his actions did save American lives.

So... lets say this Russian Mohammaden extremist won't talk. Maybe they find evidence of other bombs, other bombers, but the kids as tight as a clams ass. You think ol' Obummer is gonna athorize any enhanced techniques on this member of his own faith?

I think if anyone asked Obummer, he would say "If I had a son he would look like him"...

Pershing did not do this. A young Lt. G.S. Patton did. Earned him the nickname "Bandit". He got Villa's second in command.

The rest you are spot on about as far as what would happen to appease our enemies.

You are absolutely right, thanks for the correction! Guess I got the two of them scrambled up in my head a bit.

Pershing was there, though I forget the role he played. He may have directed young Patton to get the supplies or some such, I just don't recall right now. Either way, they don't make them like that anymore.
FWIW, I too have scrambled brains, and have confused the deeds of one dead General for another.

Without looking it up, I believe Pershing was a Col. in charge of a battalion in the pursuit of Villa.

Getting old sucks...

Ok, Pershing was a Maj. Gen. in charge of a 4800 man expeditionary force in Mar 1916. Guess I can still look things up at least.
