Excellent, shots fired at a pot rally. But I thought people smoking pot NEVER hurt anybody...isn't that why they legalized it. You can drive a car, operate firearms, heavy machinery, cure cancer, solve world hunger, and achieve world peace...all while smoking pot like a camp fire. And that's just with your left hand.

Well, guess not!

Funny how tea party people can get together, clean up after themselves, and somehow not shoot each other. Yet we are the crazy nutjobs? I think NOT!

Colorado is going the way of California...you guys better get out while you can before the druggies show up at your back door looking for your last collectible box of twinkies. Looks like they are ARMED.

I just read that before coming to Kahrtalk.

Sounds like we need to ban guns and hand out more weed. Maybe have pot month instead of day. Mark Colorado off my list of possible places to move to.

Yea, I remember reading back right after they legalized it a few weeks back that they were still arguing in the legislature about what the legal limit (BAC) should be to consider driving under the influence an offense. What a spectacular way to go about it. Legalize it, THEN decide how to deal w/ the serious offenders.

People have just gone completely nuts. We are cooked.

was the shooter smoking dope?

What, was it 80,000 people there? Gigantic weed cloud. Yea, whether he wanted to or not, they were smokin'.

Seriously though, they don't have a motive yet nor have they picked anyone up yet. Just a loose description of who they were looking for last I checked. So technically no, could have been a totally clean individual and totally unrelated to pot. But not sure I can think of a good reason OTHER than something pot related. I'm pretty sure the local tea party folks or the Baptists weren't wading thru the crowd. Plus, until they have a motive I suppose I'm free to surmise and poke fun all I want.

Pot is a mind altering drug. Why anyone would want to take a drug that alters their mind is a total mystery to me.

Well when your world sucks because you smoke dope and never really do anything to get your life moving forward...

...Then you need that mind alterd state.

+1 on those of us who pay our taxes, "cling" to our guns and our Bibles and stand fast in the protection of our Constution on being labled "nut-jobs" by the likes of that crowd in Colorodo. Those idiots wouldn't know a "nut-job" even when he is looking at them in the mirror while shaving.

I can just imagine the poor cops trying to get a description from 80,000 stoned dope heads while inhaling the crap and wanting a bit of everybody's hot dogs.

What's the world coming too when you legalize being a dope.

Be a good place to identify a good portion of the 47%ers though for sure.

You can have a beer without getting stoned. There are no social pot smokers.

eireguy, I disagree. refer you back to muggsy's statement. people drink a beer or glass of wine w/ dinner all the time and don't get drunk. pot smokers don't take a puff, pass it on, and that's it. never happens.

furthermore, people who drink socially all see a benefit to having laws to control driving under the influence and/or being drunk in public.

on the other hand, pot smokers by and large think they can get stoned out of their mind and then go perform every single action they could prior to taking that first hit, believing whole heartedly they could never cause harm to anyone under any circumstance. that is evident in their comments and rants regarding any legislation to attempt to regulate it.

the stupidity here is that they legalized pot use while holding off and not even being able to agree on any type of legal limit or law enforcement test for being impaired. that is utterly absurd and makes no logical sense whatsoever!

I meant mainly that they are both mind altering drugs.my father was an alcoholic & I had to grow up with that everyday so i'm biased anyway.but I do agree, they should have planned it out better. I've always wondered what would happen in these States when it came to your job.the state says you can get a "medical" card to smoke but what happens if you get hurt on the job & test positive?"well I have a state issued card saying I can use it" dosent seem like it would hold up.i guess in that case fed law would trump local/state law.& what about California?when you fill out a gun form & put an x next to no on " are you addicted to any illegal drugs?"( or what ever the official language is) have you just commited a felony?it's one big mess really.imo.

I get a little upset when people talk about drugs and alcohol like there's a difference.
Alcohol is a crazy powerful and destructive drug in my book.

In So Cal, back in the 70s, there were lots of parties with either pot or alcohol.
At the alcohol parties you could almost guarantee violence.
The pot parties? Never ever.

As KahrTalk's Jocko likes to say; I'm just saying...
