A few months ago, I bought my first Kahr, a P380. I love this little gun and it has become my primary EDC. Now, I want a medium or full size Kahr 9mm pistol. This new pistol will probably not be carried often, its primary use will be to keep around the house. My problem is I can't find a Kahr 9mm in stock anywhere. Thus I will probably need to order one, but I hate the idea of purchasing a new gun without being able to at least handle it and inspect it first.
The pistols I am mostly interested in are the T9, TP9, K9, and P9. At this point, the all steel T9 or K9 are most appealing, especially since weight will not be an issue. I don't have a problem with the polymer models, and I would probably snatch up a P9 or TP9 if I could find one.
One question I have is do the K9 and P9 have a full size grip? I would be interested in hearing the thoughts of anyone who owns one of these pistols or has handled them. Thanks in advance.

The K9 and the P9 have what I would call a full-sized grip. I have both and the P40 as well which is about the same size. The good thing about the polymers is that they offer the same size and capability with about 8 ounces less weight. I never carry my K9, but do carry all of my polymer Kahrs... p380, PM9, P9, P40, and PM45. The last four all fit in my Cross Breed Mini Tucks.

I can get a full grip on a K9, I think most people can, I don't have large hands but there's plenty of room.
I agree with your plan, I would LOVE to have a T9 or T40.
To me the weight isn't a big factor, in your shoes I'd go steel.
T's around here are like chicken lips, only seen one in person all my born days.
At a gun show. Guy let me hold it for a very long time. Just didn't have the money or it would have been mine, then they wouldn't be nearly so rare around these parts.
The K or both for that matter could pull double duty too. Not that difficult to carry with a proper belt and holster.

Good luck... don't forget to bargain and if they have extra mags, see if you can get a deal with those, too.

I couldn't believe I found a K9 today because I have been searching for weeks with no luck. It is actually a tad smaller than I thought it would be, but I can get a full grip with no problem. It also felt lighter than I thought it might. Due to the size and weight, I may carry this gun a little more often than I originally thought, especially in the winter months.
It has the NYPD trigger, but it didn't really seem any longer than my P380 which I have gotten used to. The trigger pull itself seemed to be approximately 5-6 pounds.
I can't wait to prep it now and get to the range on Wednesday to break it in. I will post a range report afterwards. Thanks again for the help.

Congrats on the new K9! I love mine. I know you will love yours. They have been very hard to find lately. I am glad you found one. I can't wait to hear your range report! I think everyone should own a K9.

I'm glad that I didn't need help like this when I was looking to buy some Glocks... none at Glocktalk!

Guys, I don't think SGT needed any help, looking like more of an intervention was needed. Good thing it was a harmless firearm and not drugs or infidelity :-)
That has to be the fastest rhetorical questioned, self-answered, take action series of events I've ever seen.
I like it!
I can hear it at home now. "We'll honey, I don't know if it's a quality firearm or not. I tried to get some answers online. But the jerk-offs at KahrTalk wouldn't answer me, so I just went ahead and got it."
hehe...
Personally, I think when he said he was going to the LGS, he was already in the parking lot!

I had been waiting to sell my Glock 26 in order to have the funds to purchase a new Kahr 9mm. I was leaning toward a K9, because I really wanted to try a Kahr with an all steel frame after reading some of the reviews here. Basically, I wanted a gun that I knew would last for my lifetime. I have visited or called every gun store in the area, and I couldn't find any 9mm Kahrs period. When I purchased my P380 in January, they had 33 in stock and now they had no P380's or any other Kahr in 9mm.
I was beginning to think I would have to order one and they couldn't provide any kind of an ETA. I already knew the quality of Kahr firearms, but I still really wanted to handle one before I pulled the trigger on a purchase.
I sold my glock this morning. I figured the usual suspects here, i.e. wyntrout, Bawanna, and jocko among others could guide me since it looked doubtful I would be able to handle one prior to ordering. So, I posted the thread and figured I would call around again to see if anyone had anything in stock or range rentals I could check out while I waited for replies here.
Struck out at my first LGS. Second one I called said they just got some CW9's in the other day. I hadn't really considered the CW9, but I thought I might check it out and if I liked it maybe I would buy one and save a little money. They then told me the price for a CW9 was $475, and I was shocked because my regular LGS sells them for $335 (officer price).
I called another local shop which is about ten minutes away. I had been there personally about 2 weeks ago and they had no 9mms. The guy this morning said he thought he had something, and he went to check. He came back on the line and said he had a K9. I asked the price thinking it would be high, and he had to go back and check. He then came back and said it was $599. At this point I was ecstatic because the officer price for a K9 at my local dealer was $590. I gave him my name and asked him to hold it for me. He asked where I was coming from and I told him I would be there in less than 30 minutes.
I got there and I was a little surprised to see they had actually held it back for me. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but he seemed skeptical when I told him I was on my way. Well, I liked what I found and I bought it. I worked last night so I had to sleep some today. I am off tonight though so I am now getting ready to disassemble and properly prep. Unfortunately I have plans tomorrow so I will have to wait until Wednesday to take it to the range.
Thanks again for the advice and I guess for reading this long story.
