A man with a gun was in the right place at the right time when a BG started stabbing people with a knife he just purchased. :amflag:

thanks -- this stuff just rarely makes it into the national media. Nor into the so-called statistics that Pierce Moron spews... My dad always said; "figures lie and liars figure".

Thanks for sharing. People need to know that guns really do save people too.

The good man with the gun showed a lot of restraint by commanding that the knife wielder drop the knife.

If the dates are correct, that story is old news.

what kind of people does he mean? Muslim, black, white or American Indian, a lot of info lacking. why do they not identify, a simple white or non white would do.

let me update that...

People need to know that good people with guns really do save other good people too.

w08gt and bcheese -- I think the point is that a brave, law-abiding, armed citizen was able to stop the lunatic. white or not, old news or new news.

Thanks

The good man with the gun showed a lot of restraint by commanding that the knife wielder drop the knife.

I would call it savvy as opposed to restraint.

Here's a follow-up article from The Salt Lake City Tribune.

One more example of the problem being mental illness.

Kiddos to the man with the gun...seems the NRA should be pressing every story like this one for air time. Hammer home to John Q. Public the good that goes on with firearms.

Too many folks with mental problems are walking around molesting others. The grocery store referenced in the Salt Lake article actually has a police substation in the store and full time cops. It used to be an OK area close to the University of Utah off campus housing but over 10 years ago they had to put the police presence in place because of the violence in the parking lot. Even with an immediate vicinity police presence it took a "citizen" to save more folks from injury.

I ran into a friend of mine, gun guy and long time permit holder, in a Kroger based grocery store about a month ago on a Saturday. He wasn't carrying, said he left his gun in the car. "I feel funny about carrying a gun in a crowded grocery store. Besides, it's a grocery store...so it's not like I'd need it." I suggested he'd lapsed into moron and if Col Cooper heard him say that he'd be turning over in his grave. He took it well.
