Is it just me, or does leaving Hawaii early because you weapon is ready sound perfectly reasonable to everyone else--besides my wife of course?
I'm not supposed to be this excited at my age.
Anticipation is three-quarters of the fun. Don't rush it. Savor it.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations! In case you need something to do until then, here's my possibly helpful list of links and info:
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by K a h r Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can view it and/or download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Please watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:
T, TP, CW, P, & PM/CM Series:

K series:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lubrication Diagram:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=14750
Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Another great resource for information on Kahrs... Archives of Magazine and Internet Reviews for Kahr pistols by industry experts. They test these pistols and report on their views and the ammo they tested in it. This is a good way to find ammo that might fit your needs along with accuracy and feeding in the pistol... usually from a rest with velocity and energy, as well as penetration and expansion sometimes... very informational.

Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
One very important bit of advice: Hold the Kahr pistol firmly when firing OR CHAMBERING a round. These compact pistols need all of the force they can get from the slide to get a round into the chamber successfully. If you don't hold the pistol firmly, part of the needed momentum is transferred to MOVING THE PISTOL and the top round will DIVE and jam into the right side of the feed ramp. The weak hand, over hand rack method gives the best grip and a firm rack will give you the best chance at chambering a round.
Use the weak hand fingers over the slide(clear of the ejection port), thumb along the slide and pointing to the rear. Use the gun hand to simultaneously firmly push the gun as you give a vigorous rack with the weak hand and cleanly release the slide as it reaches the rear limit and is "snatched" from the weak hand. This approximates a real rack from firing and beats the slide release method WHEN executed properly. Much more strength can be exerted when this is done closer to the body.
Here's a video on that. The first part is what I'm talking about:

There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

PS: I keep thinking of stuff to add and help new members... and am trying to cover most of the popular subjects. Yes, it's repetitious to many, but possibly not to all new members. This approach is easier than having to look up every tidbit for each new member or question that arises. :)

Guess it depends if you live on the dry or wet side of the island;)
Congrats on the new pm9.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I dream about guns, ammo, holsters, and my own shooting range in the back yard.
I want to create the next holster design, and market it, and retire from the place where I currently work. I just haven't got there yet.....

thanks wynn. not my first weapon, read all of that of course. spent six months getting acquainted and thanks in very large part to your members am reasonably confident i am conversant in the issues and nuances. so thank you all very much. that said, that's a great starter summary and newb or no, that's an awesome thing to get. good on ya.
like most i guess, i prefer to visit the wet spot and sleep on the dry. ;^)
best of luck in the holster world and please don't use plastic. it's ecologically unsound, and mars up my fancy shizzle,
*i get that not everyone wants or needs a double alpha ipsc rig, but i don't understand people who'll put thousands of dollars into quality weapons and insist on anything at all to carry them in as long as it's $35 or less. (sorry fobus, i guess i just don't appreciate what you've done. plenty of folks do so no worries.)

I just try to help out. All guns aren't alike and just because you can get one apart without knowing anything about it, doesn't mean you can get it back together without screwing something up. We just have too many people who open the box, take the gun apart and then put it back together. OR, they shoot it first and then clean it and have malfunctions. The spring orientations and insertion of the slide lock pin are easy places to get it wrong if you don't know the why and how of proper assembly. I know, because I've done it myself! I had a K9 for over a decade and figured I knew how to take a Kahr apart and put it back together... WRONG! Very different from the start on my PM9... my first polymer... was the slide to frame alignment to remove the danged slide lock pin! WTF are alignment marks... or witness marks??:D
Like a noob... which I was then... I jumped on here and asked why the slide lock wouldn't come out with the slide "correctly aligned"? I had all kinds of advice... from smack the pin with a hammer or jiggle the SL pin... but it wasn't until I posted a picture of my K-series-type alignment that someone mentioned the witness marks! There I was... just another "victim" of not reading the freaking manual... or better, watching the Kahr takedown video... and reading the manual.
Thankfully, someone noticed what I was doing wrong and I hadn't resorted to a bigger hammer. I had always used a screwdriver handle to smack the K9 pin.
If I can save just one child... er, new Kahr owner from damaging his/her new toy, I think it's worthwhile to keep those tidbits and links out for more people to see.

Totally agree as I was a newbie to semi-autos and Kahr. Those tidbits and links saved me from a lot of problems. As it is after reading everything I could get my eyes on, I've never had one minutes problem with my CM9. I have quite a few guns but this one is my favorite. Thank you.

There isn't a gun on this planet that would make me cut short a trip to Hawaii. Ok, maybe an HK MP5, but that would be a tough call. Enjoy the islands, your gun can wait.

I'd take a new gun any day over a trip to Hawaii. Trips are a limited time deal with only memories left to savor. Guns are forever! Or they are as long as I have anything to do with it.

For me it would depend on the gun. My trip to Maui was the vacation of a lifetime and would have the same value to me as a very nice piece. But would you cut a trip short to take delivery of a gun that will be there anyway? No need to rush for something that isn't going anywhere.
