Years ago I had a Blackhawk convertible. I sold it, and regretted that move later. After my shift at the gun range Saturday, I stopped by my LGS and felt the need to take this home. .357/38/9mm
Last night I just sat in my easy chair and enjoyed the wonderful sound of that action working.

Nice. Looks way better than the one that's been sitting up at the local gun/reloading shop for ages.

If it's not too forward, what did you pay for it?

It was NIB @ $539, and I don't know, or care, if that is a good deal or not. These times make gun prices somewhat of a mystery to me. Sometimes you gotta go with what feels right. At least it gives me a lot of ammo options, and there is that click, click, click of the hammer drawing back.

If the one up the street was $539 and looked as good as what you have, I'd be all over it! You got a good deal on that one.

Very nice and very versatile. I love Ruger single actions. The autos (except the new SR1911 of course) and the Super Redhawks etc never grew on me.

Love the smaller DA's too. Very tough guns.

Thank you. I will bring it to work tomorrow night to compare accuracy between 9mm and 38 loads in .357 cases. Also a good test for Froglube.

What, they didn't have one in 45lc? It's a cowboy gun for pete's sake... :yo: Just don't let them catch you spinning it on your finger.

It's ok....it's a New Model.

Added...my absolute, all time favorite, field carry sidearm is a New Model Blackhawk I bought new 40+ years ago...'71 I believe. Also still use the Hunter holster I bought with it.

While I appreciate the .45lc for the nostalgia and cowboy cool factor, I'd have to have this in .357 as well. Good call, walking out w/ this. I long for the day of impulse gun buying, but I'm still working on my freakin' grocery list.

I dunno. I did my fair share of raman noodle eating in college. Tried a pack once about 10 years ago when I was in hurry and they 'bout killed me. Must have been the msg and my girly innards.

Oh, and by 'grocery list' I meant the existing gun want list...not actual groceries. I.E. I can't get to 'impulse gun' purchases for the 'shopping list' gun purchases. Its a bad problem to have, I know.

That my friend is a very nice revolver. I'm not a big revolver guy, but that one I could most definitely love. Congrats

Update on shooting with both cylinders. I nave now a couple of boxes of 38/.357 and 9mm down the barrel. At 35' both shoot pretty much at point of aim. The 9mm 124gr/5 unique is just like shooting a .22. If I had a cabin, this is the gun I would bring with me for woods carry.
